This rental is pet friendly with an additional $100 pet fee per dog (maximum of 2 dogs allowed). Please include the number of dogs when making your reservation. The space Blue Heron Bungalow offers quick access to Black Mountain which has excellent restaurants, breweries, and shops, and quick access to Lake Tomahawk, where you can catch an epic sunset over the Seven Sisters Mountain Range. Be sure to check out the sign located on the path to see if you can spot all "Seven Sisters." If you visit the park during the day, be sure to pack a picnic to enjoy alongside the water or take time to play a round of tennis, or golf, or walk the path that surrounds the lake. For outdoor enthusiasts, Black Mountain is only 10 minutes from the town of Montreat where you can find endless hiking trails that wind through lush rhododendron, along babbling creeks, and lead to cliff faces overlooking the valley and towns below. For bike enthusiasts, Kitsuma, an adventurous 4.5-mile point-to-point trail, or the new Gateway trails in nearby Old Fort, are local favorites and some of the best that the Pisgah National Forest has to offer. Dupont State Park and the Pisgah trails of Brevard are less than an hour’s drive. There's no need to worry about bike storage at Blue Heron Bungalow; guests have access to a small storage space below the home to keep their bikes safe and protected. After a full day of exploring, come back home to cook your family's favorite meal using the gas grill and farmhouse-style kitchen, complete with stainless appliances and island seating for 3. Easy, one-level living allows for an open-concept living room, sitting area, kitchen, and dining room. Three thoughtfully appointed bedrooms provide space for everyone to unwind comfortably; a bedroom with two twin-size beds, a bedroom with a queen-size bed and dedicated workspace, and a primary bedroom with a modern and elegant en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. A second full bathroom can be accessed from the hallway, as well as a separate powder room with a laundry area. The covered front porch calls for enjoying your first cup of coffee in the morning as the day begins or recapping everyone's favorite adventure. Asheville, which is only 20 minutes away, offers a number of art galleries, restaurants, museums, upscale boutiques, novelty shops, and award-winning breweries guaranteed to keep you entertained for hours on end. The Biltmore Estate is a 15-minute drive. Other attractions in the area include Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and Mount Mitchell. Please note: This home is not pet-friendly.
