Charming and Spacious Traditional Village House

Unwind at this delightful traditional town house centrally located in the beautiful village of Lonlay L'Abbaye, in the heart of rural Basse Normandie. The house was lovingly built with antique details for a charming feel. Enjoy peace and tranquility with long walks along the many trails located nearby. The house is located within walking distance to amenities yet feels quiet and serene. There is also free parking across the street (no private parking). The space My house was built in 1808 and since then has been a shop, a saddlers (during WW2) and is now a comfortable four bedroom home. Unusually large for the area, my lovely home offers the perfect place for a holiday getaway with family and friends. With the sofa bed and travel cot it can accommodate up to 11 adults and a baby and the large dining table seats 12 in comfort. A bathroom, en suite shower room plus 2 additional WCs complete the requirements for a larger group. On the top floor of the house, the attic bedroom (with WC and basin) has exposed beams and lovely views of the Abbey and beyond. The other bedrooms are also well appointed and all have comfortable mattresses and pillows and good quality bed linen. The large dining room is perfect for a relaxed evening enjoying a home cooked meal and a bottle of the local Poiré Domfrontais (pear cider). Packs of cards plus a selection of books and board games are provided for after-dinner entertainment. There are also children's books, crayons, pencils, coloring books, puzzles and of course the TV to keep the children amused. My house has all the furnishings and homely touches that make it a great place to relax and enjoy Normandy village life. Outside there is a pretty and private courtyard with an Outback BBQ and table and chairs for alfresco dining. In the summer we have flowers and fresh herbs growing in pots - please help yourself to the herbs. You can join the locals in the morning and head down to the bakers for their delicious freshly baked bread, croissants and pains chocolat. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the whole house and the sunny and private courtyard to the rear for 'al fresco' dining. Other things to note The stairs up to the first floor of the main part of the house have a turn and are fairly steep. Although there is a handrail, guests with limited mobility may not find them suitable. The stairs to the bedroom above the kitchen also have a turn but are wider with a normal rise and may be more manageable.
