Redstone Retreat “Thackwich”

All seasons. Thackwich on Redstone is a beautifully spacious cottage located close to the village of Haliburton on a 3 lake chain. The cottage suites multiple families and different generations all looking for a great escape to the country together. Peaceful and enduring, with 2-3 families the layout is spread out that you will not feel enclosed or lacking of space. Large windows looking out to the lake will flood the cottage with lots of natural light indoors for all seasons to enjoy. The space Summer attractions include large sunny dock, very clean lake for swimming, shady beach area for kids. Kayaks, canoe, pedal boat and SUP for your use. At the beach is a zip line for kids use and a saucer and other swings area. Swim raft with slide, an EPIC tree house, finished basement with movie screen and theatre seating for rainy days- popcorn machine available, screened in porch with dining area and patio lighting to avoid the bugs. There is a great fire pit with ample log seating with lake views to enjoy a fire and the setting sun (bring your own fire wood). Nearby Haliburton Forest has 100,000 acres of hiking trails, mountain biking trails, the famous Wolf Observatory and a Restaurant on site with dine in or take out available. Kenisis Lake Marina is also a short drive away for any last minute needs or if you want some Kawartha Ice cream at their newly renovated coffee and ice cream bar. They also have an outdoor patio dining food truck available at different times in the summer months. Winter attractions are nearby Haliburton Forest for snowmobiling, Sir Sam's Ski is just a short drive away. Different sizes of Snowshoes are available to explore the area, or just stay in and enjoy the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate. Other things to note Please note that SUMMER rentals are WEEKLY only. Victoria Day-July are Friday to Friday. Very limited exceptions to this will be considered. Thank you. No parties or large groups or friends without exception. We prefer to rent to families with younger children since the property is best suited to those types of groups.
