Black Mountain, North Carolina, United States Black Mountain, located 15 miles from Asheville on the eastern edge of Buncombe County, is a quintessential small town, complete with a charming and walkable downtown and has it's own welcoming mountain vibe. Our property is located just a three minute drive from this bustling downtown. Sort of a combination of Asheville with more traditional small town elements. The town of Black Mountain is a product of the Blue Ridge, thrust onto the national stage alongside of Asheville during the early 1900s, and was the only option for tourists who wanted to visit the highest peaks east of the Mississippi. Today the allure of these mountains continues as Black Mountain has become one of the most visited Asheville satellites in the region with a thriving arts and crafts scene, and—at 2,405 feet in elevation—access to incredible outdoor adventures. Named for a mountain range that towers over the town, Black Mountain became a haven for pioneers in the world of art, painting, music, poetry, and architectural design during the mid-twentieth century. The town was once home to Black Mountain College, one of the most highly-respected and innovative experimental art colleges in the U.S. Today it remains an artist mecca with multiple galleries showcasing some of the region’s best southern Appalachian arts and crafts. 1.2 miles from the city center of Black Mountain, 3 minute drive via St. Route 70. There is plenty of free public parking at the restaurants and breweries downtown. 15 miles to Asheville, you can either go four miles to take I-40 West or take St Route 70 into east Asheville. Can be difficult to get Ubers/Lyfts to Asheville from Black Mountain. Asheville back to Black Mountain usually takes a similar amount of time as any pick up but there is an overall shortage of Ubers/Lyfts in the entire area at this time so please plan accordingly. If you would like to book the upstairs/downstairs spaces separately because you have fewer people please message us and we can direct you to the appropriate listing for your situation. Outside doorbell camera and camera over parking area is in place for safety monitoring.
