The Pinkhams Cove Lakeside Cottage on Great Pond (Golden Pond, Belgrade Lakes) is bright and welcoming inside. A beautiful interior and an inviting outdoor space with a private sandy beach makes this the perfect place for gathering with family and friends to make Maine memories. This location is wonderful to enjoy all of Maine’s seasons. The entire house is yours, with the largest body of water in the Belgrades in your backyard. There is a private sandy beach with gradual entry into the water, as well as a large dock and swim platform. It is truly perfect for all ages! Guests are welcome to use the kayaks at their discretion, as well as any other beach toys/furniture. There are two adult and two child sit on top kayaks. The backyard is spacious for yard games, and the back deck is a great spot to lounge steps away from the lake. We've made some upgrades to the home and furnishings in hopes of creating the best possible experience! You can expect a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, high speed internet, and many other extras. We have tried our best to think of everything that you may need during your stay, so that it is truly your home away from home. The master bedroom has a queen bed, as well as a small couch that folds down into a floor mattress that could be used for a younger child. The second bedroom, which was once two separate rooms, has a twin over full bunk bed on one side and a twin day bed on the other, with a twin trundle as well. In the living room there is a couch and a chair (almost loveseat size) which can be pulled out to a twin sleeper if needed. We've listed the home as sleeping six, which only accounts for the true beds/mattresses. Some time in October, the dock is pulled out of the water and rests on the left side of the backyard. We’ve included two pictures at the end of the photo album, showing what the yard looks like during this time. The entire home is accessible to guests including driveway parking, the backyard, private sandy beach, and many extra fun amenities. Special Accommodations can be made for boat & trailer parking. We will not be physically on site during check in or check out. We are always available via message, call, or email. The Belgrade Lakes area is comprised of seven bodies of water, with Great Pond being the largest. Located just a few miles from the I-95 Augusta/Waterville area, it is a popular destination for tourists and is the basis of Ernest Thompson's Film "On Golden Pond". With a spacious public boat launch just 9 minutes from the cottage, guests can launch their boat and use the private dock in the backyard throughout their stay. Whether boating, biking or driving to town the downtown area of Belgrade Village is a cute place to stroll through, with various shops, bakeries and restaurants. Day's Store and The Village Inn & Tavern are local favorites, as well as Hello Good Pie. Also downtown is Belgrade Lakes Golf Club, the number one golf course in Maine and the only course in New England to be listed in the Top 100 Greatest Public Courses. For more mainstream shopping, the cottage is less than 20 minutes to Target, Christmas Tree Shops, TJ Maxx, Walmart, Dick's Sporting Goods, and many many more as well as many chain restaurants.
