Stunning mountain view, modern, off the grid house
Modern off the grid home with Epic Denali View
Thoughtfully designed to maximize the view in all parts of the house, there is a full panorama of Denali and the Alaska Range from this modern, newly constructed house. You can even see Denali from the shower! It's only five miles to town but when you're looking out towards the Alaska range you can't see any other buildings and it feels like you're in the wilderness. House resides on the bluff above Twister Creek (a great local IPA made by Denali Brewing). The home is off the grid, so you'll have a generator and solar panels creating any power you use. It's a great place to getaway while providing lots of recreational opportunities right out the door. I've set the booking criteria for a two night minimum stay (with occasional one night stays here and there to fill in the gaps). It's worth it so you can slow down and enjoy the place. Let me know if you're looking for a particular one night stay and I'll see what I can do. Winter guests will need to park and walk/hike/snowshoe/snowmobile the last .4 of a mile to the house. There is a wood-fired hot tub on the premises but is only available to wintertime guests staying at least four nights and only by prior arrangement. Think winter glamping! After confirmation, guests will be given a key code to the front door lock for access during their stay. I rent my house when I'm away for work. At most I'm an hour and a half away but am available by phone if you need me. Talkeetna is a wonderful little town with lots to offer: good coffee, a local brewery, a bakery and lots of fun shops and activities. You'll have plenty to do in the area but be forewarned, it's hard to leave the house, especially when the weather is clear. You'll need a car in the summer months to get here but there is access to trails for biking or hiking right from the house. The isn't a TV or a microwave on the premises. There is good cellular service on the property. The wifi is cellular based (the home being off the grid, this is the only option). If there are a lot of people in town, the wifi is impossibly slow. It can also be very slow if the guests before you used a lot of data and it has been throttled. All these factors are out of my control and therefore, I do not recommend this spot if you want a working vacation.
