The space The Space There is nowhere quite like this in West Marin — and very few places like it anywhere. A large, comforting studio with private entrance and deck, perched on thirteen wooded acres above Nicasio with dark night skies, sweeping views, and the kind of quiet that restores you. Thoughtfully furnished with designer pieces, original art, and a new Casper memory foam mattress with a down comforter. Work area with strong WiFi. We provide extra heaters so you control the temperature in cooler months. Kitchen Provisions No full kitchen, but well-equipped for easy stays: mini-fridge, microwave, drip coffee maker, tea, plates, utensils, and the basics. The Grounds Star-gaze from the hot tub. Watch hawks circle at eye level. This is West Marin at its most alive — quirky, beautiful, and genuinely wild. Hot tub maintained at 104°; please enjoy until 10pm. Note: inclement weather or maintenance may occasionally limit access. Spa Add-Ons Cold plunge and sauna available for an additional fee to cover energy costs — just inquire when booking. A Note on Sound Usually very quiet, with abundant wildlife. Winter brings chirping frogs. There is one other rental unit on the property, and the studio is connected to the main house — ambient noise is possible. We provide earplugs for light sleepers. Water Our well water is exceptional — softened, charcoal-filtered, and UV-treated. Please take short showers and conserve where you can. Septic System We're on septic: please use only the provided toilet paper and put nothing extra in the toilets. Sleeping Queen bed, set up for two. A third guest or twin bed can be arranged — just let us know in advance. If you are someone who knows what West Marin is — or has always wanted to — this is your place. Come as you are. Leave restored. Guest access We have ample parking and are located 25 minutes from the closest downtown. Other things to note If you wish an early checkin (2pm) if we can support it, it will be $25 for an additional cleaner. Please ask in advance. Our place is in Marin (Nicasio) and up a beautiful one mile drive on a paved, but sometimes bumpy and twisty road. Although we are not far from civilization, it feels very remote and amazingly beautiful. Not that far, but once you come you may want not to leave... Please note that during the winter the pound on our property is a sanctuary for frogs. They will sing at night, sometimes loudly. We love this. And hope you do as well. It may be a very unique experience as frogs are sadly becoming extinct. We have created a spa area on our property, which includes a hot tub, outdoor shower, sauna and cold plunge. You and one guest may be able to use the sauna and cold plunge. Please reserve in advance. One sauna usage per booked night. This guest space has its own entrance, but is connected to the main house. Please note that we tend to be quiet, yet you may hear ambient noise. We have serenity but not silence. Pets are welcome! Please do not let animals off leash at night as it could be dangerous for them. The cleaning fee for pets is $45 for the first pet, and $30 per additional pet per stay. Please let us know if you are bringing a second pet. We have a very large fenced in yard that is perfect for dogs. The room is ideal for two, but for a small charge we can bring in a roll away bed and extra linens. Please ask ahead of time. We know people come to our place to relax, and we respect this. If you want to check in up to two hours early, we charge $25. We have to secure additional cleaners to that unit to be able to accommodate an early check-in. Please note: Fire pit is not for guest use unless we have started and are monitoring the fire due to fire risks. We are in an extreme fire danger area.
