Perfect for a romantic escape or family getaway, this peaceful retreat invites you to relax in rocking chairs or a porch swing as birds sing and a nearby creek flows gently through the meadow below. Enjoy breathtaking views on horseback or while hiking, then return to the cozy cabin to cook in the fully equipped kitchen or grill dinner on the deck. End your day with a soak in the hot tub or a movie on the HDTVs. Day trips to Boone or Blowing Rock are just a short drive away, offering fun for all ages. Guests are encouraged to bring their own fire-starting material (firebricks or fat wood). This home is located in the 4000 acre, Leatherwood Mountain Resort in Ferguson, NC. Our guests are invited to enjoy our Horseback Riding program where you can experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains pristine wilderness by Horseback (reservation required). You will have access to miles of hiking trails, mountain streams, stocked fishing pond, community swimming pool, play ground and tennis courts, creek tubing (seasonal), on-site restaurant with active live music & event calendar (guest advised to check hours when planning meals). Leatherwood Mountains has surveillance or recording devices on the property. Our neighborhood is very safe and our property very secluded. For added peace of mind, we have security cameras by the gated entrance and common areas. Individual properties may also have cameras on the EXTERIOR of homes. Please be assured they are not directed at private areas, hot tub porches etc. VERBAL CONFIRMATION VIA TELEPHONE IS REQUIRED TO GUARANTEE ON-LINE RESERVATIONS MADE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ARRIVAL Other things to note Check in is at 4pm, at our Visitor Center, 512 Meadow Rd, Ferguson NC 28624. Guests packets containing keys, contracts (which may need signatures) and rental maps (highlighted to guide you to your cabin) will be located at Visitor Center for pick up at 4 pm on the day of check in and left on the front door after hours. We also have our after hours number posted on the porch if you are to run into any problems once we're closed.
