Welcome to your very own private large sauna, cold plunge and forest hot tub! A Scandinavian escape in Nordegg, Alberta. Calm, minimal, and serene - letting nature be the focus. Designed with simplicity, sustainability, and all things hygge. The space Enjoy your own private spa hydrotherapy circuit - HEAT up in the hot tub and Finnish sauna - COLD plunge in the snow, cold tank or in the outdoor shower - REST in a forest hammock or by the fire in a muskoka chair. REPEAT. (Outdoor shower, and cold tank are seasonally operated in the above freezing months) Retreat to the upper patio to relax on a sun lounger, cuddle up in a cozy blanket around the fire table, or grill your dinner outdoors. There are so many ways to unwind on this gorgeous, forested property. Inside this octagonal house, you're surrounded by nature-inspired balanced design of soft curves and sharp lines. Curl up with a warm drink and a book by the wood burning fireplace. Put on a record and unwind over a board game. Cook dinner together in the fully stocked chef’s kitchen. Get comfy around the TV for a movie. Retire for the night to one of the luxury guest suites. Craft your morning coffee and laze on a daybed or start your day in the sunroom with a stretch flow workout. Parents with infants/small children will be comforted to know we have amenities for the kids as well. Don’t worry about bringing along a high chair, bumbo & tray, playpen, bedding, padded playmat, or kid's dinnerware. We have you covered even when it comes to playtime, with a kid’s area stocked with coloring sheets, markers, toys, puzzles, a train set, lego, games and books. 2 king bedrooms, 1 queen bedroom, 1 multi-bed room (configuration options: 2 twin beds, 4 twin beds, or locked together as 1 king bed), 1 double daybed. 3 of the bedrooms have a workspace: desk, chair, and stationary. Additionally, the queen bedroom has a wifi printer and paper. Full chef's kitchen, wet bar with mini-fridge, large dining table, 2 large living rooms, sun/wellness room, kid's cave (toy room), record player, bluetooth speaker and 2 TVs (Netflix included). 2 bathrooms complete with large walk-in showers. Laundry room with a full size washer and dryer, and sink. Access the Coliseum Mountain hiking trail just a short 3 minute walk from the property or adventure by car to the endless activities and sights nearby. Our guidebook at the property highlights many local activities you’ll be sure to want to explore including places to eat and shop, live music, ATV/OHV, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, hiking, ice climbing, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, swimming, heli-tours, whitewater rafting, canoeing, SUP boarding, kayaking, fishing…the list goes on! Guest access Guests have private access to the house as well as two acres of forest surrounding it. Other things to note Energy usage is supplemented with solar power. The house is constructed of ICF making it cool in the summers (no need for AC but there are tower fans in each of the 4 bedrooms) and warm in the winters. The entire home is finished in heated concrete floors - so if you would like something softer underfoot, we advise guests to bring a comfy pair of indoor house shoes/slippers.
