The Old Palace Tower, km zero of Cudillero, flavor of ancient times
A three-story 19th-century tower, rebuilt on medieval remains next to the town hall, the former "Palación de los Omaña", and Cudillero's feudal gentlemen for centuries. On the other side, the Cudillero amphitheater: fishermen's houses tiered in the semi-circular mountain and open to the port. Epicenter of the village, heart of the seafaring atmosphere. The Torre del Palación belongs to CudilleroVIP HOUSES along with La Nana del Mar and Santa Julina. The space A "vintage" house that retains the ancestral flavor of this seaside village that is unique in the world. The room at the top of the tower, with windows to three cardinal points, recalls the legends of Cudillero. Two other bedrooms, living room, bathroom and lobby. And in the "metro zero" of the village. Three plants with three facades, restored (November 2018 - February 2019) preserving traditional local architecture and seafaring flavor. Antiques and modern amenities. The car parks right outside, a privilege in a village of stone stairs and narrow passageways that form its ancestral urban plane. Guest access It is equipped and decorated with contemporary art from my collection (I am a editor of an international contemporary art magazine) and with antiques that the Tower itself and other family members (furniture, tableware, lamps, decorative objects...). She even has a bed with the traditional wool mattress (which can be replaced, if you want, for the modern one underneath). Other things to note I TOOK CARE OF MY elderly MOTHER day and night for 10 years... until she left on February 1, 2018, at 92 years old. We lived in Madrid and spent summers in our cottage, 6 km from Cudillero. We were here almost always here because their health and spirits improved a lot. To fill the huge void she left, I bought old houses that are worthy heritage to save and I have focused on getting them back for the enjoyment of travelers. Before I took care of it, I was traveling for my work around the world. I do this in his honor because he was not only happier here than in Madrid, but his health improved a lot: the wonders of nature and history, the benign climate and the goodness of human relations in this privileged area were his best medicine. And, of course..., her memories of her summers as a child in the area, in which her grandparents, great-grandparents were already summering... My family has been documented in the Valley of Las Luiñas (adjacent to Cudillero) since the 16th century. I just started hosting guests as part of my historical and artistic commitment in this unique and fortunate area that is Cudillero and its region.
