The space The Eco Lodge is ten minutes drive from Ireland’s prettiest small town, Kenmare. Inside Bedrooms are generously sized and away from each other. Two are upstairs, the third at far end of long hallway downstairs west. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, dressing areas and en suite. A second bedroom has x 2 beds double +single + worktable. It is adjacent to main bathroom with a sumptuous modern bath. Downstairs double bedroom has a wet room with wheelchair accessibility. There are two living rooms, one steps down from the dining area the other is a cosy library-study room stocked with books on literature, art, architecture and ecological matters. Outside Two south-facing patios with seating. A new Charcoal barbeque. Pathways lead through the woods to river which is 150 meters below the house and quite shallow. Swimming is possible but for that you must travel a mile down river on N71. Here there are rock pools for dipping. A pathway loops around the 3 acres. Dining area steps up from living room, modern oak dining table with seating for six. There is a Utility Room with washing machine and airing rack. Outdoors x 2 patios - south and west with tables and seating + fire pit. A BBQ sheltered by overhang from slatted shed. Shed houses clotheslines for laundry + dry wood for stove. The Kitchen is a double height ceiling with structural beams exposed. It contains a breakfast area, desk, boot room + a large walk-in pantry to store food. Floors of kitchen and hallway tiled in terracotta coloured tiles and all living areas engineered oiled and bleached oak downstairs and oiled oak upstairs. Eco credentials include natural paints throughout, plus fully breathable hemp and lime walls, recycled roof slates and geothermal space and water heating. Constant hot water is available. Run taps for a while as pump is housed a distance away in the shed. Kenmare Eco Lodge designed and curated by the owner is a stylish space yet in keeping with farmhouse county practicality.
