Elwood Cottage is a charming, newly-renovated home located in a small community in the West Virginia mountains, merely minutes from Wolf Creek mountain biking trails, and just 10 minutes from New River Gorge National Park! The space Our one-story (so no concern with stairs), family-friendly home is packed with amenities and fun for couples, families or groups of friends. The cottage is located in a neighborhood in the town of Oak Hill, WV with great restaurants, bars, and shops downtown. The cottage includes: - 2 bedrooms: Bedroom 1-Queen Bed, Bedroom 2-Twin over Queen bunk bed (sleeps 3!) - A pull-out sofa in the living room (don’t worry, it’s comfortable!) - Fully-stocked kitchen with stove/oven, microwave, and dishwasher - Smart TV where you can quickly sign-in to your favorite streaming service - Fast WiFi (50+ Mbps) that's more than enough to stream movies and hold video calls – perfect for working remotely - AC in all the main rooms to keep you comfortable Outside the cottage, we also have: - Enjoy the hot tub after a long day exploring the area - Outside fire pit with seating for your group - A front porch with a grill – and space to relax with a cold beer or glass of wine - An outdoor yard game treasure box full of activities for kids and adults: cornhole, volleyball, soccer balls, horseshoes, and many more! Please note: Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up! Pet Policy We’re happy to welcome dogs to join you on your getaway! Please note that due to allergies, we’re unable to accommodate cats. A $29 pet fee applies per furry friend, per night to help cover additional cleaning and care. Thanks for understanding—we look forward to hosting you and your pup! Longer Stays For stays of 14 nights or longer, guests will be asked to e-sign a rental agreement prior to arrival. This agreement helps us comply with local requirements while protecting the property, and will be sent in advance for review. Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close we are to New River Gorge National Park (only a 10 minute drive away). The park has excellent hiking, views from the bridge, and of course whitewater rafting. These are several outfitters to plan your river excursion or mountain biking trail ride right nearby.
