The large and lush lawn is a great feature no other getaway nearby can offer; there's a picnic table outside which will allow you all to enjoy your meals al fresco. The gas grill is another great perk you can take advantage of. Both retreats (Big Cottage and Little Cottage) offer fully-equipped kitchens with all the modern appliances needed to prepare tasty meals, but if you'd like to step up your cooking game, the grill available will do the trick. What's nearby: This location is unbeatable if you compare it to other rentals nearby–you'll be 170 yards away from the ocean and a short two-and-a-half-mile drive or walk from downtown York where dining options, convenience stores, and grocery stores abound. You'll have two incredible beaches nearby; Long Sands, which is two blocks away, and Short Sands, which is two and a half miles away and is the perfect beach to visit with the kids. There you can find a public playground, several basketball courts, and a lush open lawn area. Downtown York boasts a plethora of dining options if you'd like to treat the crew to delicious local meals. Plan a fun, family trip to York's Wild Kingdom, a zoo and amusement park combo! Make sure you visit the Nubble Lighthouse (less than three miles away), which sits on top of the Cape Neddick Nubble, a very small rocky island. It might not be the most impressive lighthouse, but it's a wonderful sight to experience, especially during Christmas. Less than 10 miles away is Mount Agamenticus, which is popular thanks to its hiking and biking trails, and also due to the stunning 360-degree view from the top. Things to know: Full kitchen without a dishwasher Both cottages are located on the same property as the occupied main house. Both Big Cottage and Little Cottage can be rented separately or together. Guest access Check-in is at 4pm and checkout at 10am. The primary lockbox is on the right side of the deck post at the stairs to the entrance - your code is in your confirmation. If you need the backup lockbox code, it's located on the fence post to the right of the shed in the backyard. If you have any questions during your stay, you're welcome to reach out with any needs. Other things to note Your cottage comes with complimentary start-up amenities including toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, trash bags, dishwasher pods, dish soap, laundry soap, hand soap, and a sponge. Sheets, bedding, and towel sets are provided, with backups available in the unit. Additional supplies are your responsibility during your stay. Welcome to Maine - the beautiful coastal environment also brings common seasonal insects like mosquitoes, black flies, ticks, sand fleas, spiders, and others. The property receives monthly pest control, but these are a natural part of the area. Bringing your own bug spray is highly recommended for outdoor activities.
