La Salzadella - Cal matiner country house

Cal Matiner is a 3-star country house for up to 8 people. It was built in the 15th century on the old Salzadella wall and after its renovation and expansion in 2015 it is rented in its entirety offering all the current amenities. Enjoy a fairy tale house distributed in different rooms that bring privacy and quality to every corner and provide guests with a unique stay. The space Downstairs is the dining room with fireplace and the living room with the sofa that overlooks the deep olive oil mill, where wine was formerly produced. After a few stairs you will find the kitchen that has a ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave oven, Nespresso coffee machine and endless kitchen utensils with which to prepare your best meals (toaster, mixer, juicer, paellas, casseroles, etc.)You will also have an extensive cutlery and crockery including, among others, wine glasses, champagne glasses and mixed drinks glasses. All carefully cared for and checked to make you feel at home. On the following floors of the house there are 3 bedrooms with king size or extra-large beds for both single use (2 beds of 90x200 cm) and double (1 bed of 180x200cm). Each guest will have two pillows of different firmness to choose from. Each room has a sink and mirror, a closet, 2 armchairs and a 32-inch SmartTV. The rooms are illuminated by natural light through their windows, as well as offering different combinations of lights to create an ideal atmosphere at all times. A very cozy attic with a sofa bed for two people from which you can enjoy the views of the village bell tower and the starry sky of Salzadella listening to your own music through a fantastic stereo. In addition, this attic can easily be converted into a fabulous movie theater using a 150-inch SmartTV projector. Get your popcorn ready! From the attic you can access the house's terrace from which you can see the fabulous landscape of Salzadella and its surroundings. Enjoy it especially when Salzadella becomes a blanket of cherry blossoms! Finally, Cal Matiner has two bathrooms with rain showers, toilet and bidet. Enjoy a shower on top of the old wall. The water in the whole house is decalcified, your skin will thank you! Guest access Cal Matiner is for the exclusive use of our guests. We have a 24-hour reception and personalized guest service, as well as luggage storage, a safe and a wake-up service. Once we give you the keys, we will be attentive to any request and we will only access the house if you contract the daily cleaning service directly with us (with or without changing sheets and towels). You can also complement your stay with cultural, gastronomic and sports activities that we can hire for you, as well as with a gastropack made up of high quality local products (fruit, vegetables, cheeses, wine, sausages, meat, etc.). Throughout the year we have a paddle court included in the price (requires prior reservation). During the summer months we include in the price the daily entrance to the local swimming pools that have a large and medium pool and changing rooms. Other things to note Legend has it that the last inhabitant of the house, the grandfather matiner, was a fighter in the war of the matiners or early risers that corresponds to the second Carlist war in the years 1846-1849 due to the fact that Charles VI of Bourbon could not marry Elizabeth II to take the throne of Spain. This war was characterized by attacking the opponent in the early hours of the morning, which could explain why there is a hole in the wall through which the grandfather matiner could have fired a pistol to defend himself from the attacks of the troops of Isabel II. Today this hole is in one of the bathrooms of the house and can be used as a sound box to listen to music with our mobile phone.
