St Etheldreda's - Historic Centre of Wells

St Ethel's is in the heart of Wells, but charmingly tucked away in a quiet Mews Courtyard. Only a moments wander to the vibrant high street, shops, restaurants, events & market all set within the city's picturesque medieval backdrop. This beautifully restored & presented one bedroom cottage has all the period charm of fireplaces, vintage styled furnishings, subtlety enhanced with all the modern conveniences. Perfect for a getaway - come & enjoy, explore & relax in our wonderfully placed cottage. The space A warm welcome awaits you as you step into the ground floor...a well-equipped fully integrated fitted kitchen, dining room. The French table with fresh flowers is a perfect size for two, ideal for a leisurely meal. There is also a little window seat that overlooks the garden, perfect place for a cup of tea or glass of wine. The modern kitchen has a good selection of cooking equipment for those wanting to prepare there own meals. You will also find it well stocked with the essentials (washing up liquid/dishwasher tabs etc) A relaxed and comfortable feeling awaits you as you go upstairs to the lounge with French doors opening to a Juliette balcony overlooking our floriferous little garden. There are two super club chairs where you can curl up and read a good book at one end. There you will also find a table where you can set up a laptop to research where to visit or catch up on emails. The lounge also has a wonderful feather filled sofa which you can sink into and watch some TV at the end of a day exploring. Moving up to the top floor you will find a romantic double bedroom with ample storage and an en-suite shower room with vaulted ceiling. The shower room has wonderful views over the historic rooftops towards the Cathedral. The bedroom has a double bed with a lovely re-styled vintage chest of drawers and a large built-in wardrobe. There is space for a travel cot adjacent the bed (we can supply travel cot and high-chair). Outside you will find a perfect bench under the kitchen window, where it gets the sun nearly all day. You will also find a bistro table and chairs in our little garden. (We allow the next-door neighbour use of our garden, but there is a small hard-standing where they can set up their table & chairs). There is a separate lockable storage space for 2 bicycles or a pushchair in the shed (the old privy) at the end of the courtyard. Perfect for couples of all ages, - ideal for romantic, cultural, walking, bird-watching breaks as is conveniently located near a variety of fabulous places of interest throughout the year. Guest access The entire house is yours to enjoy, we have a garden to the front of the house and there is on street parking nearby. Other things to note The cottage faces onto the Methodist Church, so not on the main road. Access is through an inconspicuous archway off Southover - the cottage is tucked away in a courtyard and quiet despite being in the centre of the smallest city in England. You will be staying in a residential area, there are 4 other cottages & only the neighbours have access into the courtyard.
