Gammeringalm Hunting Lodge

The cabin is located at 1,200 meters altitude on an idyllic alpine pasture. In summer, it can be reached by car via a slightly steeper, coarsely graveled forest road. Those who have an SUV have an advantage. In winter, it is located directly on the ski slope. Directly from the cabin you can start extended ski tours and snowshoe hikes. We transport the luggage with the Polaris on arrival and departure. The cabin is very rustic, cozy and equipped with many loving details. The space The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen. Cooking is done on the large wood-burning stove, which also heats the living room at the same time. The wood is provided and there is a briefing for the use of the fireplace. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower and is heated via the wood-burning stove so that you can find a sufficiently warm bathroom even in the depths of winter. The hot water is prepared via a water bag in the stove. If the stove is heated, you have enough hot water for the kitchen sink or for the shower at the same time. Electricity is available via a strong photovoltaic system, which provides sufficient electricity for all consumers needed on an alpine hut, even on days with bad weather. All energy-intensive activities such as cooking, heating or providing hot water are operated with wood that we cut on our alpine pasture as firewood. In conjunction with the strong photovoltaic system and the drinking water from our spring, you live completely self-sufficiently and sustainably at the hut. With all the amenities that the hut offers today, we have made it a priority that the hut remains as original and "alpine" as possible. Other things to note In winter, the hut is located in the small but fine Wurzeralm ski resort. It can then only be reached by ski, which is relatively easy because it is located directly on the ski slope. At 4 pm, the lift closes after the last ascent. After that, you are alone in nature. On arrival and departure, we transport the luggage with the Polaris to the hut. The car can be parked free of charge at the day and night parking lot of the Wurzeralm funicular.
