Villa Yuyu is a vacation residence that epitomizes contemporary Balinese rustic chic. Interiors are appointed with mostly weathered bleached teak tropical furniture, as well as beautifully crafted wood furnishings, a huge Suar table, suar top bar and open kitchen, a few elaborate art pieces and touches of Indonesian traditional wood décor and statues, including a totem from Timor at the entrance. The space The villa has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with rain showers. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. Two bedrooms have canopied and draped king-sized beds. Another bedroom has a queen-sized bed, while one other bedroom has twin beds. Perpendicular to the villa is the 8-meter swimming pool. Give in to its beckoning, glassy waters for some mindless wading, or for some playful splashing. For some sun, you can lie on cushioned, rattan pool beds – some partially covered by a large umbrella – on the poolside wooden deck or on the garden’s well-kept lawn. You can also recline on a big cushioned, circular, rattan day bed under the tall palm trees overlooking the rice paddy that is right opposite. At the breezy, semi-open and spacious covered terrace extending from the villa’s ground level is the living area. Around its hefty and long, cushioned bleach wood couch and chairs, you can all converge for moments of family or friendly bonding. At the center of a spacious and high-ceilinged pavilion connected to the covered terrace is the dining area with its carved one piece suar wood table good for up to ten. Here, you can all have your fill of authentic Balinese specialties – as well as foreign fare – freshly cooked by the onsite chef at the fully-equipped kitchen behind the dinner table. Provided with high stools, the kitchen’s long suar counter can also double as a bar. Upstairs a quiet reading room with a well-stocked bookshelf and a TV and DVD player are available for your enjoyment. Finally the garden is a delightful, well-kept and colourful tropical paradise with a terraced front garden with fruit trees and the main garden at the back overlooking a rice paddy and featuring a few coconut trees, frangipani trees, hibiscus flower bushes and more. Guest access Amenities are discriminatingly five star – to ensure all-out guest delight and enjoyment. Villa Yuyu, truly, affords you modern comfort with a countryside and peaceful ambience – 300 m from the Surabrata village centre down a quiet street, and 300 m walk from the desert and 15 km long black sand Mejan beach. Balian surfing beach is just 500 m away. Other things to note For local driving up to Medewi or Soka beach our driver will charge you Rp150,000 and the rental of a car is Rp300,000 a day. For bigger tours, to Ubud, Jatiluwih, Tanah lot etc. we recommend hiring a tour including driver and car which Wayan, the villa manager can arrange Tell Putu who comes to clean every day & makes the beds, if you need any fresh towels. She will also wash the dishes every day if you cook yourself. You will also meet Jaqueline, our house cat. She is a rescued Balinese shelter cat and is very relaxed. She is also a very good hunter and will make sure that, while Bali is a tropical place, you get bothered by the least possible creepy crawlies. If you do nevertheless not like cats, or have an allergy, please let Wayan know, and he will make sure that Jaqueline does not cross your path during your stay.
