Le Petit Chateau (Adults only property)

The beautiful 'Le Petit Chateau', at 'La Tuilerie de la Roussie', originally built in 1551 is entirely yours to enjoy. Ideally situated on the bank of the River Vézere in the pre-historic area known as the 'Vallée de L'Homme' between the fascinating town of Les Eyzies and market town of Le Bugue. To explore the area we offer FREE use of mountain bikes and a kayak*, there is direct access to the river and a 12km cycle path. Or simply relax around the heated swimming pool on luxury sun loungers. The space Le Petit Chateau in the grounds of La Tuilerie de la Roussie has been tastefully refurbished retaining it's romantic charm while having features such as a walk in shower room in the turret! The small kitchen with full size oven is well equipped and is open-plan to the lounge which has a wood burning stove and TV with English and French Freeview channels. Plus, with new fibre high speed broadband, Netflix is now available. The good size bedroom has a king-size bed with a luxurious mattress and a small air conditioning unit. Le Petit Chateau has its own private terrace overlooking the garden; The terrace with sun and shaded areas has table & chairs, two sun loungers, and you have your own BBQ. Free shaded parking on site. Guest access Share the beauty of the well-kept gardens, fishpond, and river frontage.... and enjoy the fabulous heated swimming pool. The 12m x 5m heated swimming pool is situated next to our manor house has luxurious sun loungers with umbrellas (pool towels are provided). If you are relaxing by the pool then most of the time you will have this space to yourselves**. Explore the area with FREE loan of our Mountain (VTT) bikes and enjoy the river from a two person kayak; we can take you with the kayak to Les Eyzies for you to kayak down the river (for approximately 1 hour) directly back to your accommodation. Around and about you can soak up the beauty of the Dordogne with its amazing chateaux and visit the many pre-historic caves and cultural experiences through 'The Valley of Man'. Our location is a perfect base to either see the sites or just relax and be. The private property is pretty secluded without being isolated. You are just 5 minutes away from a great selection of local restaurants, shops, supermarkets and other amenities. Other things to note Le Petit Chateau is exclusively for adults only 18 years+: Because we have so many water features at La Tuilerie de la Roussie, and open to the river without safety fences or barriers, this property is not suitable for children. Also to note, the property and stairs to the bedroom may not be suitable for the elderly or those with reduced mobility. Reservations are accepted for 7 nights with Saturday for check-in and check-out. We do not charge any additional fee for 'cleaning', our cleaning is included for your stay. WiFi high speed fibre broadband connection is free of charge. *Bike and kayak loan is subject to availability and weather/river water level.. **Guests from 'La Tuilerie Grange' (our other small adult only gite) also have access to the pool and pool area. The local single track, mostly single carriage train, runs adjacent to our garden which means that for around 10 seconds approximately 12 times during the day you will hear a train.
