Skylark Cottage is a pet friendly holiday cottage situated on a small organic family arable farm 5 miles outside Berwick upon Tweed. The cottage can happily sleep six guests and is comfortably furnished throughout. There will always be two baskets of logs ready for your arrival. All heating, electricity and wifi access is included in your rental price. We do not charge extra for pets. Secure bike storage provided. The space Skylark Cottage looks out to open fields and you will usually have donkeys or herdwick sheep for neighbours. We are situated away from main roads so you can walk nearby and feel as if you were miles from anywhere. The views range from the Cheviot Hills all the way up the Scottish Borders. Thornton Farm is only 15 minutes from Cheswick Sands, one of the most beautiful secluded beaches in Northumberland. Or you can venture North and take the train to Edinburgh. A great way to experience the Edinburgh Festival but escape the crowds after a long day exploring the city. We have lots of guide books and tourist information in the cottage. We are also on the Paxton House "preferred accommodation" list and as such can offer guests free passes to the grounds and discounts at the tea room. From Paxton House you can enjoy wonderful walks along the River Tweed. If your trip is for a special occasion, please let us know and we can help with arrangements from taxis to birthday cakes. The bedrooms are a decent size and there are mirrors in each. Our holiday cottages are pet friendly. We offer dog towels and water bowls. All the gardens are enclosed and pet safe. It is private, peaceful and comfortable. The garden has exclusive guests use. The farm is accessible for guests but we ask that you be aware we are a working farm. Other things to note If you are keen cyclists and would like to bring your bike, Skylark Cottage has a secure garage for bike storage. There are some fantastic bike routes near Thornton, details of which are in the cottage.
