There are three spacious bedrooms; Two have balconies facing the ocean, two bedrooms have new king sized mattresses and the third bedroom has two new queen size mattresses. All bedrooms have A/C and ceiling fans. All bedrooms and balconies have hooks for hammocks. The home is three levels: The ground floor is open, airy and air conditioned with views of the ocean and pool as soon as you walk through the front door. Here you have a fully equipped kitchen, the living room and dinning area as well as a half bathroom. Access to an outdoor lanai is by two sets of sliding doors off the dinning/living area. Further past the lanai is the pool then the ocean! Up the stairs in the living area is the second level, containing two bedrooms and onto the third level, where there's a bedroom and the laundry room, of which is equipped with washer, dryer, iron, sink and outdoor patio for hanging wet clothes. Deserving of a visit are cenotes (striking natural sinkholes for swimming), Mayan ruins, restored haciendas, the beautiful city of Mérida and its thriving culinary scene... all fun day trips or an amazing evening out. Here are some of our favorites: * Ancient Mayan City of Uxmal * Cenote Chelentún/Cuzamá * Mérida - Capital City of Yucatán - Palacio Cantón, a lemony yellow mansion home to the Yucatán Regional Anthropology Museum. - Coqui Coquui, perfume shop housed in a restored colonial building with checkered tiles and hand painted details on the ceiling and walls. - Sorbetería Colón, an ice cream shop founded in 1907 still serving their original recipes, opposite the Plaza Grande (the cities main square) where Méridian life casually rolls by - Néctar, is a fine dining restaurant that creates innovative Yucatecan cuisine. Expect experimental dishes like chicharonne and tacos with burnt pineapple, and elevated Yucatán staples like tikin xic (fish prepared with achiote paste) and cochinita (pulled pork). - Apoala, being of the hottest spots in the city for Oaxaca-meets-Yucatán cuisine - Mercado 60 is an easygoing culinary market that kicks off every night at around 6 p.m. Food can be bought from the different stalls and eaten at long tables, and cocktails are available at the bars. The clincher here is the live music, which draws a vibrant crowd - Malahat, a speakeasy behind Apoala. To gain access, speak to one of the hosts at Apoala, then make your way behind the service entrance to a hidden door. Inside, a groovy bar with killer cocktails and live music awaits. There are several small groceries, lots of bakeries, restaurants, food shops, a small but very good fresh market near the main square, and THE BEST hand made ice pops at La Michoacana (located on the corner of Calle 19 and Calle 20), are all within walking distance from the house. In addition to Chicxulubs regular haunts, the summer season brings many pop-up stores, lively restaurants and nightclubs, but still retaining Chicxulub's relaxing, fishing village vibe. The region is also home to North America's largest flock of Pink Flamingos. They can be seen migrating up and down the coast. You'll be in walking distance to the main drag with its pier, markets and restaurants. And if you wanted to explore Merida, its a 25min Uber ride away.
