This beautiful unique listed cottage, built in 1666, is located in the Anchorage area of West Mersea. Just a short stroll from local pubs, restaurants, the beach and the sailing club. It is a cosy, quirky and stylish property for two people. Perfect for a romantic gettaway. The private courtyard garden is lovely for dining al fresco on the local seafood. This iconic house is the most photographed on the island. The space Fully fitted bespoke kitchen with everything you could possibly need for cooking . It has an open plan reception room with dining table and chairs . There is a small bathroom complete with shower and toiletries . The bedroom has a double bed with a brand new , extremely comfortable mattress . There is also a large TV and Nespresso coffee machine in the bedroom where you will find a wardrobe and plenty of space for your clothes . The private courtyard garden is perfect to enjoy morning coffee or for al fresco dining in fine weather . The washing machine , tumble drier and fridge freezer are at the end of the garden in the middle shed . Please note that the stairs are steep as shown in the photograph and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues . Guest access Access to the whole property Other things to note Entrance to the property is through the side entrance on City Road via the garden. The front door is sealed and no longer in use . Mersea is cut off for about an hour twice a month at high tide so please check the tide timetable when travelling to and from the property and during your stay . You can check Mersea Island tide times easily on line.
