Guesthouse KIOTO is using an old town house (Machiya) about 100 years old. Here is located in a local area, about 30 minutes by city bus from Kyoto station. There are many restaurants, supermarkets and convenience stores near the guest house. We have prepared a handmade map of the neighborhood to introduce you to our recommendations. You can go to Kinkakuji by bicycle. There is a public bath of tangible cultural property called Funaoka Onsen where you can go on foot for 15 minutes. The space The guest room is a Japanese style room on the first floor of annex. There is a private Japanese garden attached. Toilets, showers and wash room is shared on the first floor.. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, fans and free Wi-Fi. Because it uses an old townhouse, the soundproofing function is not perfect. If you would like to have a homemade Japanese breakfast, please make a reservation at least 1 day before check-in. Please note that we cannot accept reservations on the day of check-in. *Not available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will try our best to answer your questions except late at night and early in the morning. Other things to note ■ Check-in: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM (No check-in after 9:00 PM) ■ You can come and go freely after check-in. We recommend checking in early. ■ Staff are not available from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. ■ If you’d like to leave your luggage before check-in, please let us know in advance. ■ No smoking anywhere in the house. ■ This is a traditional Kyoto townhouse, so there is no soundproofing,. ■ Access to the 2nd floor is via a steep staircase; not suitable for guests with mobility issues. ■ Yukata (Japanese pajamas) and amenities are available for rent or purchase. ■ There is 1 shared shower room and 2 shared toilets on the first floor. ■ The shower room is outdoors—it can be chilly in winter, but the water pressure is good. ■ Common areas are available until 11:00 PM. After that, lights are turned off until 7:00 AM. Please enjoy a quiet evening in your room. Common areas are not available after checkout. ■ Our townhouse is about 30–40 minutes by city bus from Kyoto Station.
