Description
Unique, comfortable, inviting, relaxed, home away from home!! I'm at 9,000 feet. Come play at Ski Cooper, Vail Ski Resort or Beaver Creek in endless nature then come home to rest up in the hot tub & by the cozy fireplace... Please note; There are three rooms with a two guest maximum in the queen room, three in the bunk room, and two in the king. Price is based on a double occupancy. ie; queen room is priced for 2 people. If you are 2 separate people you will need to add a room (3d person). The space The queen bedroom is on the main floor and has its own full bathroom. On the top floor is the bunk bedroom and master. The bedroom with the king/bunk bed (can be converted to either) has a vaulted ceiling, is comfortable and is approximately 10 x 15 feet in size and has a door to the toilet room. A second full bathroom is separated by a sliding door from the Master Bedroom. The master is large in size and has amazing views with a private deck off the back of the house. This is the place to stay if your not interested in the hustle and bustle of Vail or its corridor however, close enough to the amenities that you won't miss it. The house sits at 9,000 feet in elevation and backs up to open space on two sides with views from the front deck of our little town of Red Cliff. Holy cross, a 14,009 ft. peak, is the gateway to Red Cliff. The private hiking trail in the back yard is a 12 mile round trip loop and worth the hike! The trail has winter cross-country skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing just steps away. In the summer months, hiking, biking, class 4 kayaking, fly-fishing, trail running, and road biking is all within 5 minutes from the house. I'm sure if your an avid biker or trail runner you've heard of the Leadville 100. Well, this is the playing ground and literally just steps outside the front door. What makes this getaway unique is the quick 10 minute drive to Minturn and 20 minute drive to Vail Ski Resort and at most 30 minutes to Beaver Creek. If you head in the other direction your fast at Camp Hale or Ski Cooper (10 minutes) and drive a bit further you arrive at the historic town of Leadville (30 minutes). Breckenridge is 1.5 hours and Ski Copper is about 40 minutes. Cotton wood & Glenwood Springs hot springs are both within an hour 1/2 drive. I just can't say enough. I love it here. I live between Zurich, Switzerland and in the French Alps part-time. This past summer I spent in Alaska yet Red Cliff is still most definitely my home.... Guest access There is a code box for easy entrance. Guests are welcome to use the main area of the home, decks on the main floors and kitchen area. Please note; if it’s winter you will need an awd, 4 wheel drive, or front wheel with chains to manage the driveway but the highway is plowed regularly. During your stay I am mostly available. I do instruct snowboard and am in the process of acquiring my flight instructor rating.. I also enjoy getting up on the mountain for personal pleasure but otherwise I'll be around. If I'm not a sweet couple, Nick and Libby will be there to host you. Other things to note I can also cook and/or food shop for an additional fee. Friendly Pets are welcome with pre-approval (kind, social pets need only apply) and a non-refundable one time pet cleaning fee of $50 per pet along side a refundable security deposit of $150.00 to be paid upon your arrival. This is my home and I would like to extend it to kind, good-hearted people and their good-hearted friends aka pets. Pet sitting for the day while you ski or ride which includes two short walks or one long hike a day is $100. Overnight pet boarding is $150 which includes 3 walks, feeding, and lots of love.. Cell phone is via an AT&T booster, Iphone messaging and Facetime or wi fi calling. I have limited parking on the driveway. Only one vehicle spot is available. There is ample parking in town and the walk is a gorgeous, easy 5 minute walk. I just need to coordinate it with our local hotel ahead of time. Again, you will need a front wheel drive with chains or an all wheel/4 wheel to navigate the driveway in the winter. Pets tend to be on site.
