We try to accommodate requests, if possible Trailhead is ideally situated at the foot of Cady Hill Forest; a mecca for mountain bikers, trail runners, hikers, and lovers of nature. We are located just one mile from Stowe's village. Park in our newly paved parking spot right beside the entryway, go down 2 steps and you are in, and everything inside is step-free. The space Our lower floor apartment is a bright and open living space with a view of the front lawn, big maple tree and Little River. It’s cozy and warm in the winter and naturally cool and airy in the summer. Near the entrance is a small open closet with space for boots and coats, and a curtain that can be placed with magnets to cover the door windows for privacy. The small dining set is also there as well. In the living area there is a comfortable leather power loveseat, and two rocker recliners, perfect for relaxing with a movie or a book in front of the gas fireplace and Roku TV. Except for the loveseat, guests are invited to move the seating, just put it back when leaving. In the kitchen you’ll find a refrigerator, a new dishwasher, and a new electric stove with exhaust/lighting. There are microwave, Keurig and regular coffee pots, toaster, and most everything you need to cook a meal. If you can’t find it, it never hurts to ask! The master bedroom has a queen bed, a small open closet, side tables with lamps, a Roku TV, and a big window looking out onto the lawn, river and trees. There are darkening curtains for the large window that is also an emergency egress. The second bedroom has a queen bed, side table with a lamp, a dresser, chest with toys, and extra blankets. Please note that the bedrooms are not heated, but warming mattress covers are on each bed, and we suggest leaving the doors open to the heated living room. If necessary, there are heaters with the remotes stored in the laundry room. Use the heaters with the bedroom door closed as they are designed for small rooms and shut off and on to keep the temperature constant in the room. Please Always turn them off when leaving the room. We have stocked the bathroom and shower with shampoos, conditioners, and shower gel (with pumps; not tiny packages). There is also a first aid kit and a hair dryer, and plenty of towels. A washer and gas dryer are available for your use. Guest access You will have the whole apartment to yourself. You can use any of the games, puzzles and books. In season, enjoy strolling through the gardens, ask Beverly to pinch some herbs for your dinner, or cut a few flowers for your table. Bring your coffee or wine and relax on the swing under the arbor. You may be lucky and see some of our wildlife wander through the property. Walk, hike or bike or ski up the hill to the Cady Hill Forest, or walk to Stowe's village to shop or take in the many Stowe community activities. Head to the mountain for downhill or cross-country skiing or boarding just 8 miles away. Avoid parking hassles and take the free trolley to the ski area. Other things to note There is a door that is left unlocked between the apartment and the main residence.
