Abbey Place Net Loft, by Mousehole Harbour

Abbey Place Net Loft is converted from an old loft used by fishermen to hang and mend their nets. Located right in the centre of Mousehole about 10 metres back from the harbour this cosy little cottage benefits from modern functionality whilst keeping all it's historic charm. The property is set over two floors with a bright and airy lofted living area upstairs and double bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The space Please note that there is a sofa bed in the lounge, so as well as 2 guests staying in the double bedroom, it is possible for up to 2 children or a 3rd adult to stay on the sofa bed if you so wish. The AirBnB guest settings don't allow for this when entering numbers (as it is basically a 1 double bedroom property) but it is perfectly ok to use the sofa bed. Do let me know though so I can arrange for extra bedding to be left out. No pets. Guest access Guests will have access to the whole property. The key can be retrieved from a key safe by the front door. The code will be provided a month or so before your arrival date, so you will be able to arrive and leave any time during your stay. Please note that the property is located up a flight of about 10 steps and also has an internal staircase. Please message us if you are interested in staying for longer than a week and we will be more than willing to try and accommodate you! Other things to note Please message us for multi-full week booking enquiries as it is currently difficult to set these up on the calendar. But we can do so on request. The kitchen area is equipped with everything you would expect in a self catering holiday cottage with crockery and cutlery for 4 people, plenty of pots, a frying pan, toaster, microwave, cafetière, fridge and a nice big Belfast sink to do the washing up in! The dining area has a circular table with double drop leave edges to create extra space in the living area if just two guests are staying. The edges can be raised to make a circular dining table for four. There is a set of four dining chairs in the property too. You will normally find two by the table and the other two elsewhere in the flat, usually in the bedroom! The living area has a Freeview TV with DVD player and selection of classic films, a sofa bed (big enough to sleep two children, a cosy couple but possibly not two large rugby players!). There are also lots of books on local folklore, history and smuggling that are great to read on a stormy night. Free and unlimited "Fibre" WiFi is available in Abbey Place Net Loft (measured at 32MB/second download). Login details will be provided before you arrive. The bathroom has a bath an electric shower, bath, washbasin and toilet. Please bear in mind that as Mousehole is an old fishing village full of granite buildings so mobile phone signal is generally not good. However, if your phone and network allows "WiFi Calls", you can get perfect mobile signal inside Abbey Place Net Loft by connecting to our WiFi connection! Like most properties in the very centre of Mousehole village, we don't have our own parking space. There are however 3 car parks nearby that cost from £5 per day with the nearest less than 100 metres away. Please see the last picture in our gallery for a map showing where the car parks are. Abbey Place Net Loft is owned by Andy & Brooke. We have been welcoming guests into our holiday home since 2008. Along with housekeeper Jackie we try to make our guests' stay as comfortable as possible and aim to make our Net Loft feel like a home from home. We fell in love with Mousehole whilst on a walking holiday in west Cornwall in 2005. There is a great sense of community in the village which is never felt more than during the various carnivals and festivals held in the village throughout the year and of course when the legendary Mousehole Christmas lights are on! When this Net Loft came onto the market in 2007 we decided to seize this rare opportunity to purchase a flat so close to the centre of the village and run it as a holiday let.
