A tiny but clean, elegant space that meets your basic needs with Victorian charm and comfort. Perfect for a single who just needs a decent bed, a child/teen who wants his/her own private space, or someone looking for a nice affordable room for a longer period of time. Built in 1890 in a charming Victorian neighborhood, our peaceful home in historic Milford offers guests their own front-door entrance and living area. Business travelers: we're only 4 miles from Tata Consulting Services. This tiny room is popular, cozy, and affordable...perfect for a short or extra-long stay. The combination Victorian twin bed with modern art/decoré gets a lot of kudos from our guests. The entire front of our two-story home is used just by our guests. The front door is your private entrance. Your room (Room #2) is located at the top of the stairs to your left. On the first floor is the parlor room (with HDTV/Netflix, couch, piano, work area) and the dining room. The dining room is the only room in the front of house or upstairs that we share with our guests. On the second floor are the 3 guest bedrooms and 1 full, shared bath. Also included are a microwave, small fridge, and a coffee/tea bar. We do not allow in-room cooking; nor do we provide breakfast/lunch/dinner or kitchen facilities. The front door of our home is a private entrance for guests (we use the side door). As you enter, you'll be in your parlor room. To your right is the dining room. The bathroom contains supplies like fresh towels, soaps/body wash, and shampoo. Extra supplies are in the bathroom closet. In our home, you have access to the parlor room, dining room, and entire upstairs (bedrooms and bath). Of those rooms, the dining room is the only room shared with the hosts. All other areas are for guests only. Not available to you is our main kitchen and the back addition of our home where we live and work. We believe in respecting your space and privacy. We will keep our entrance into the guest areas (the front of house and the upstairs) to an absolute minimum. You may contact us via the Airbnb system, which includes an email messaging area as well as our cell phone numbers. We are constantly online (and connected via our phones) and do our best to respond to you immediately. You may also visit us by going around the house (from the outside) and knocking on our side door. This is the entrance to our home and office area. Don't hesitate to visit us. However, we do encourage you to contact us through the Airbnb system for any requests. It's far easier to track our communications that way. Entering our quaint neighborhood is like stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting. Friendly neighbors and turn-of-the-20th-century Victorian homes. We are a short walk away from historic downtown Milford and its many charming gift shops, antique stores, coffee and ice cream parlors, wine and bourbon bars, live music, restaurants. Over the last 10 years, our little town has become a hot-spot for window shopping, dining, and entertainment. We're also a short walk from the Little Miami River, where you can enjoy kayaking and fishing. Or challenge Dino, your co-host and our resident champion, to a stone-skipping battle on the river (caution: we think he keeps the best skipping stones in a secret stash). Just a block away is the quiet, scenic campus of the Jesuit Spiritual Center. The grounds include breathtaking natural scenery, riverside overlooks, and even a labyrinth and small cabin for meditation and contemplation. The Little Miami Scenic Trail begins right across the river and travels approximately 75 miles to the northeast. Portions of the trail parallel the river for which it's named, winding serenely through the beautiful countryside of Southwestern Ohio. Milford is the only spot in the country where 7 national trails intersect, including the Buckeye Trail, the North Country National Scenic Trail, and the Ohio-to-Erie Trail. Street parking for no more than 2 cars per guest is permitted in front of our home. A Cincinnati (Metro) bus line stops just two blocks away. And Uber, Lyft, or a taxi service will meet and take you anywhere you want. The majority of people in our neighborhood use their feet or their bikes to get to our local attractions. • We are 27 minutes (17 miles) away from downtown Cincinnati. • We are 33 minutes (33 miles) from the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport. • We are 64 minutes (65 miles) from the Dayton International Airport. Since we have three bedrooms, and one bath, there may be times you will be sharing the recently upgraded bathroom with other guests. You can book the entire upstairs (or front of house) if you travel in a larger party. The two queens and one twin bed (3 total rooms) can comfortably sleep 5 people. We may be able to make room for more if necessary.
