Step into history, and stay in our fully-renovated adobe home turned atelier/gallery (the Grocery) and 2 bedroom hostel. The Writer's Room shares a bathroom and small kitchen with the Waiter's Room. The first door to the right and the spacious hallway serve as an art gallery that is open to the public for events. The kitchen and bathroom in the back are only open to the guests staying in the rented rooms. The building has had many lives as one of Tucson's oldest properties, from home to famed politician Stewart Udall (who created the National Endowment of the Arts and national parks under Kennedy as Secretary of the Interior) to the El Rapido Molino tortilleria. Now it can be your home in Tucson, conveniently located within walking distance to nearly everything downtown Tucson has to offer. Please note: parties or events not allowed under Airbnb. Guest access This private room shares a bathroom and kitchen with one other room. The front door has a code and the key to the room also opens the side gate and back door in addition to the Writer's Room. During your stay I often live in the building with the Object Hotel Cat named Filo, who used to roam the block as a stray kitten. Should I not be there, I am always a phone call away! Other things to note Like all homes in downtown Tucson, trains pass through and make their hauntingly beautiful noises. It is the Wild West after all...The 2 foot thick adobe walls help. There is occasionally live music across the street at La Cocina. I often live in the building with the Object Hotel Cat named Filo, who used to roam the block as a stray kitten. There is no television, but lots of books. Please note that our kitchen, while spacious, has minimal fridge and counter space. We love when you share our spaces with friends, just please let us know if you plan to host a gathering of more than 2 people not included in your reservation. WE DO NOT ALLOW UNAUTHORIZED FILM/PHOTO SHOOTS. Private and commercial shoots are, however, permitted for a fee. Please be honest with us, if you try to use our property for a shoot without permission, we will ask you to leave without exception and we will not reimburse your reservation. We are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or illness that occur while on the premises. The owners are not responsible for the loss of personal belonging or valuables of the guest(s). By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to the premises.
