An ergonomic walnut workstation with a Herman Miller chair and high-speed Wifi makes for the perfect work-from-home office. Wake up to birdsong and gentle morning sun filtering through the trees. The space Tucked among the trees just a mile from campus, my space offers a calm and welcoming accommodation for study, rest, and reflection. Designed with visiting scholars and researchers in mind, it features a broad walnut desk paired with a Herman Miller chair — a workstation that makes long hours of writing or reading genuinely comfortable. Two shaded skylights bring in soft natural light, and a small collection of books adds both inspiration and companionship. The shared kitchen is fully equipped and easy to navigate, with labeled cabinets that make settling in simple. In the living room, an original 1927 fireplace lends a touch of history and warmth, a fitting place to pause with the morning paper or prepare for the day ahead. Out on the garden deck, you’ll find a quiet spot to take tea, stretch into yoga, or just enjoy the breeze coming in from the Bay. More than a place to stay, the cabin offers a peaceful rhythm of its own — a setting attuned to both the life of the mind and the need for renewal. Guest access Guests are welcome to make use of the kitchen for tea, coffee, and light meals, with the simple expectation of tidying up afterward. The space is kept clean and thoughtfully organized, with labeled cabinets to make everything easy to find. The shared bathroom is maintained regularly for comfort, and a washer and dryer are available on-site for guest use.
