Permaculture Farmstay Bamboo hut with Bathtub
Permaculture Farmstay Bamboo hut with Bathtub
Description
This bamboo hut is the first guest house at my farm, designed by myself. With a customized round window framing the whole rice field and mountain view. It has a private wooden bathtub, so you can have a warm bath in the chilly morning or evening here and enjoy the sunrise or sunset at the same time. There is basin next to the bathtub for you to brush your teeth and fresh up. On the other side of the house, it has a patio with hammock, for you to lay on and take a nap. The space Yidan’s Permaculture Farmstay — Nature, Creativity & Community in Chiangdao Yidan’s Farmstay is a peaceful, creative, nature-filled sanctuary where guests slow down, reconnect, and experience simple farm life. Our property blends natural living, community spirit, and creative freedom. Guests can stay in unique houses by bamboo, teak wood and many other natural recycled materials, explore gardens, meet friendly animals, enjoy mountain air, and experience the rhythms of sustainable living. We collaborate closely with our global volunteers and our local neighbors in Chiangdao community. The farm has grown from Yidan’s one person’s dream into a shared project shaped by people around the world. You’ll find both quiet corners for solitude and warm communal spaces for connection. Whether you want to rest, work remotely, join farm activities, or simply enjoy nature, our place welcomes all kinds of travelers: digital nomads, artists, long-stay guests, and nature lovers. 🌱 What makes our farmstay special: • Beautiful natural surroundings & mountain views • Thoughtfully designed cabins and spaces • Peaceful environment with animals, gardens & trees • Community vibes with optional activities • Creative spaces for work, art, and rest • Easy access to local shops, cafés, hot springs & Chiangdao highlights Stay with us and experience a different pace of life — grounded, natural, and full of heart. Guest access Guests have full access to most areas of the farm, including: • Gardens, open fields, and walking paths • Edible forest where you can explore seasonal plants and learn about permaculture • Lotus pond with fish, a peaceful place to sit and reflect. • Big communal kitchen — perfect for cooking, baking, or experimenting with fermentation (workshops available for guests who want to learn more!) • Animal area with our pig Pepa, two goats, chickens, and ducks — guests can enjoy egg hunting in the mornings • Farm shop featuring products from local Chiangdao farmers, makers, and artists • Bonfire area for stargazing, storytelling, and occasional BBQ nights (you’re welcome to do your own BBQ — just ask us for the tools!) • Shared outdoor spaces for reading, working, resting, or simply enjoying nature • Sunrise gym with a climbing rope, pull-up bar, TRX and simple workout tools — perfect for morning training with mountain views Sometimes we also run special functional workouts as a team. One of the most special spaces is our Moon Hut, located in the middle of the rice field — perfect for meditation, yoga, reading, tea time, qigong, moon watching, firefly watching, and sometimes even movie nights under the stars. Guests are welcome to join farm activities when available — such as planting, harvesting, or natural building — but everything is optional. You’re free to explore the farm at your own pace, participate in community life, or simply enjoy the peace and nature around you. Other things to note As we are a permaculture farm, you will naturally encounter some wildlife — bugs, geckos, frogs, and occasionally snakes. (Don’t worry, snakes rarely come near the living areas, and our cats usually take care of any unexpected visitors.) We aim to balance comfort with wilderness, and all rooms come with mosquito nets for your peace of mind. During the rainy season, the frogs sometimes host lively night concerts. In the morning, our pig Pepa may get vocal, and the roosters occasionally throw their own “parties.” If you’re sensitive to nature’s soundtrack, we provide ear plugs to make your stay more comfortable. Rainy season may also make some farm paths muddy — but don’t worry, it’s just dirt, not dirty. We don’t offer hotel-style call-on service. Instead, we’ve created a sharing and caring space where guests can enjoy facilities freely and independently. We are always happy to offer tools, information, guidance, or anything that can help you deepen your experience — whether that’s exploring the farm, learning something new, or simply enjoying your time in nature. Staying here means embracing simplicity, nature, and community — and we’ll support you in every way we can.
