Our charming farmhouse is nearly 100 years old. Much love and care has been taken to create a comfortable home where guests may relax in the peace that you are sure to find here. In the winter, create warm memories and stay cozy around the fire or cook hearty meals together in our spacious kitchen. In the summer, enjoy the lavender fields, birds singing, and deer nibbling between the lavender rows at dusk. Savor a glass of wine on our large covered porch or morning tea in the enclosed sun room. The Main Floor Come in and enjoy our cozy and seasonally decorated farmhouse. Several steps leading up onto the large deck in front of the home with a covered area for visiting as well as an area that is uncovered if you'd like to enjoy the sunshine. A propane BBQ is provided. A hammock for two and a large redwood picnic table overlook the lavender field in the warmer months. There is ample, comfortable seating on the porch, which look out over two of the largest incense cedar trees in the area. Once inside the house, on the main floor, there is an open floor plan with a spacious kitchen, dining room, and living room. There is also a bathroom and the master bedroom (kingsize luxury hybrid mattress), as well as the laundry room. The kitchen has Corian countertops with plenty of elbow room for multiple chefs in the kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked with vintage English dishes, cookware, a KitchenAid standing mixer, two crock pots, wine glasses, a coffee maker and grinder, blender, hand-mixer, casserole dishes, french press, spices, microwave, dishwasher, oven, a hot air popcorn popper, and a waffle iron. Kid friendly dishes, cups, and cutlery is provided. Spices, common condiments and pantry baking ingredients, butter, coffee, hot cocoa, and tea are provided. The living room has an efficient mahogany ceramic pellet stove to maintain the cozy and romantic ambiance during the fall and winter months, several comfortable couches and chairs, and a large TV with an Amazon FireStick to access your online Hulu, Amazon, or Netflix entertainment. The bathroom has a detached powder room with a cast iron deep soaking tub, which is accessible through the master bedroom. Nice high quality linens and quilts, down comforters, and simple toiletries are provided. There is a laundry room with a washer, dryer, and ironing board off the kitchen. Just off the laundry room, there is a lovely enclosed sunroom with vintage porch furniture overlooking the back property. There are several comfortable wicker chairs, creating a perfect place to share a cup of tea or read your favorite book. The Second Floor Upstairs, there are three additional spacious bedrooms and a full bathroom. Two of the bedrooms each have a queen size bed (one with a tempurpedic mattress), a closet, and dressers. The third bedroom has one double bed (memory foam mattress) and one twin size bed, a portable crib, a rocking chair and plenty of games, toys, and books for people of all ages. There is a bathroom with a garden tub/shower and a new double sink with a marble top vanity. There are extra sheets, quilts, and sofa blankets to keep everyone comfortable during their stay. We do have an air mattress with bedding available if you need sleeping accommodations for an additional 1-2 guests for an additional charge. Please let us know ahead of time and we will be able to provide more details and can have it ready on your arrival. Guests have access to the entire main house (except the basement). The outbuildings on the farm are off limits as many are older and may represent a safety hazard. We do not live on the grounds but are available for any needs. We have a groundskeeper who comes by regularly to take care of the outside property, but he will not bother you. The Little Lavender Acre is centrally located in the heart of Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley. Our working lavender farm is just outside of the sleepy little towns of Sublimity and Stayton, just east of Salem. We are in the heart of wine country, close to numerous vineyards and wineries including Willamette Valley Vineyards, Silver Falls Vineyards, Piluso Vineyard, St. Innocent Winery, Coria Estates, Honeywood Winery, Pudding River Wine Cellars, La Chouette Vineyards, and many more. We are close to the beautiful Oregon Gardens, Silver Falls State Park, the quaint historic town of Silverton, the Enchanted Forest, and Oregon's capital city, Salem, all about 15-20 minutes from the farm. We are an hour from Portland and Corvallis, and about an hour and half from Eugene. There are gorgeous mountain hiking trails in the Cascade Mountains and foothills nearby, and some local Salem tour companies offer seasonal truffle hunting. Breightenbush Natural Hot Springs and picturesque Detroit Lake are just over an hour drive up the scenic canyon, and the Pacific Ocean is about 1.5 hours away. The small towns of Sublimity, Aumsville, and Stayton are all two miles from the farm, where you will find grocery stores, restaurants, and most daily necessities. Nearby destinations: - Downtown Salem (20 minutes) - Silver Creek Falls (25 minutes) - Oregon Gardens/Silverton (20 minutes) - Portland (1 hr) - Oregon Coast (1.5 hrs) - Cascade Mountain Range (1 hr) - Breightenbush Natural HotSprings (75 min) The surrounding hills include numerous hiking destinations including Opal Creek and Breitenbush Hot Springs. The Willamette Valley is also home to many craft breweries. Sadly, we cannot accommodate pets on the property as we welcome guests who have medical allergies. While a motorized vehicle is needed to get here, many cyclists bike through the rolling hills and farmlands as they enjoy wine tasting and take in oregon's beauty from the seat of a bicycle. We warmly welcome ALL of our guests, no matter where you are from, how you worship, and who you love.
