Located in the hip SE Hawthorne neighborhood on a quiet residential street and at the foot of Mt Tabor, this custom house provides a luxurious and convenient studio for relaxed stays and enjoyment of all that Portland has to offer. We designed this studio specifically for visitors who want the ease and security of a private entrance, the warmth (or coolness) of radiant-floor temperature control, and comfort. In 2025, we installed AC! The space The Salmon Room in Mt Tabor House is a private daylight apartment located on the first level of our house. It is fresh, clean, modern, new construction with lots of light. The Salmon Room is completely private with its own entrance and no shared spaces with the owners. The unit is in our house, not a separate building. Footsteps are audible, but we do our best to be quiet! WIFI: There is secured wifi for streaming videos, etc. There is no TV in the room. KITCHEN: There is a well stocked kitchenette including refrigerator with small freezer, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, french press, and electric tea kettle. BATHROOM: Tiled shower with fluffy towels & washcloths. Amenities including Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower/Shave Gel, and Hair Dryer. Guest access The Salmon Room is your private room with private entrance. We live upstairs and there are no shared spaces. Other things to note This is a house, so expect normal household sounds, however the radiant floor heating is a good sound barrier but footsteps are sometimes heard.
