Dondon Barge – Cocooning gîte on the Canal du Midi

Unique! The Dondon houseboat was so beautiful in 2022! Old Dutch houseboat from 1920 converted into a cocooning cottage. Its location on the famous Canal du Midi, in the heart of the Lauragais, between Toulouse and Carcassonne, makes it an exceptional cottage. Peaceful atmosphere, unique environment, for an atypical stay on a warm houseboat that can accommodate up to 7 people: terrace on the water, dining area on the bank with wild nature and with magnificent sunsets. The space The Dondon houseboat can accommodate up to 7 people in beds (1 king size bed 160x200 + bunk beds 90x190 + 1 futon sofa bed 140x200 + 1 modular pouch armchair that can be converted into an extra bed for 1 person). All bed linens and towels for 7 are provided. Reversible air conditioning and pellet stove in the living room. Hand soap available, body wash and shampoo. Hair dryer available. Washer with washing capsules provided, hanging rack, small ironing table and iron as well as all cleaning supplies. Fully equipped kitchen (Top fridge, Nespresso coffee machine with coffee capsules to help you out on the first day, kettle with teas available, toaster, microwave, plancha/raclette/fondue machine). A liftable coffee table in the living room for indoor dining + outside dining area on the river bank + small aperitif table on the terrace and in front of the houseboat. 6 folding chairs, 4 deckchairs, 2 on the floor. You are on the Canal du Midi, you will enjoy the navigation of other boaters, a unique environment. Guest access Car access is convenient in front of the barge. You can park several vehicles there. You have to go down a staircase and walkway access to enter the houseboat. There is a staircase inside the restricted raised houseboat (this is a boat!). Other things to note For periods of 2 nights min, exception for cyclists and pilgrims, early in the week, depending on availability. Provide deposit cheque 400€. You will be greeted upon arrival to explain the rules of board, and I can be reached if needed. No baby equipment. Houseboat available all year round. ANCV holiday vouchers accepted.
