Church Ford Cottage is a unique and picturesque 17th century thatched cottage in the heart of beautiful North Devon. It is self-contained and offers everything for a relaxing stay. The interior is cosy and retains original features such as a bread oven, fireplace and beamed ceilings, with all the comforts of a modern kitchen and bathroom. This is a perfect escape for families, couples, and friends. With beautiful surrounding countryside, this pet friendly space has a private garden to enjoy. The space A private entrance leads into a modern kitchen fully equipped with everything you might need – large fan assisted oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, and a table for up to four of you to enjoy meals at. A stylish bathroom with shower and bath meets all your pampering needs after enjoying a walk or cycle on the Tarka Trail, or having been to a nearby beach (please note the bathroom is downstairs, with both bedrooms upstairs). Centrally heated throughout, on cooler evenings you may also wish to light the traditional wood burner in the comfy and cosy living room, or simply relax at any time with the FreeSat Smart TV (with all the usual streaming apps for you to log into) and complimentary WiFi throughout. Upstairs there are two attractive bedrooms, each with a king-size bed. Both have characterful ceilings, integrated wardrobes, and pretty windows overlooking a farmer’s field, which often has sheep or cows in it. The bedroom layouts can be configured to suit your wishes, as each king-size bed can become two comfortable single beds with an additional pull-out bed if you need more sleeping space! Church Ford Cottage sits in just under an acre of attractive gardens. There is plenty of space for parking, as well as a secluded private garden space for the cottage via a set of wooden steps, with a BBQ with outdoor seating. From the drive there are sweeping, uninterrupted views down towards RHS Rosemoor on the outskirts of Great Torrington. Guest access The cottage has its own private entrance with a secure key holder for you to arrive at your convenience. Other things to note Pets: Well behaved pets are welcome at Church Ford. Guests are welcome to bring one dog, please state this when booking. We do ask that pets are not left alone in the property. Please also note there are steps through out the property and up to the private garden, especially if you have an old or frail dog. Stairs/step access and low door frames: Some of the door frames are low with padding to prevent accidental headaches. There are steps down into the property, between rooms, and a set of wooden steps up into the private garden. The main internal staircase is open (no backs) with short, steep steps. A handle and rail are available but if you struggle with mobility the stairs may be challenging. Young children are welcome but please note there are no stair gates. Bathroom: The bathroom is downstairs accessible through the kitchen. Log burner: We provide plenty of wood and fire lighting materials for your stay. Please note the log burner should never be left unattended by an adult when lit. Additional guests: The two bedrooms sleep four in total. We do have two additional pull out beds in the bedrooms, please contact us if this is something you require.
