Description

A stylish, cosy and very comfortable home in the middle of Kensal Rise, just 20 minutes' walk from Portobello Road & Notting Hill. Kensal Rise is a vibrant area with great pubs, restaurants and independent shops, just a short walk from Queen's Park. We have a big outdoor area for dining and socialising. Both the tube and overground stations are less than an 8-minute walk away (Oxford Circus in 30 mins). Premium appliances, fast wifi and Sky/Netflix are all included in the rental. The space Our flat is on the ground floor of a Victorian house on a quiet no-through road in Kensal Rise, a vibrant corner of north-west London, near Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, Portobello Road and Queen's Park. We've got great restaurants and pubs near us, as well as lots of brilliant independent shops. Our local florist, Scarlet & Violet, sells some of the most beautiful bunches in the city, and we're a short walk from the Lexi, a great local cinema. For longer bookings, please be aware that our cleaner, Cristina, will come in once a week. Accommodation All the rooms in the house have lovely large windows. The pink bedroom has a king-sized bed and an exceptionally comfortably mattresses. Our bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, a basin and a loo. The kitchen/sitting room, recently renovated, is very comfortable, with a dining area and a supremely squishy sofa – great for watching movies on the TV (with full Sky package and Netflix). It leads directly into the terraced garden. Please note that trains run on the other side of the fence, but we have double glazing so you are unlikely to be bothered by them. We have records and a record player; you're welcome to use them, please just take care and put things back in the right place. No drinks on the music unit please. The kitchen is properly equipped, with an induction hob with integrated fan oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and microwave It's fully kitted out with pots, pans, trays, crockery and cutlery, as well as a Kenwood food processor and Kitchenaid. It's worth noting that this is our home and it feels lived-in. We hope it adds to the charm. The local area Below are a few of our top tips: Restaurants – Ida for fantastic pasta, Sacre Cuore for pizza, Parlour for high-end pub grub, Shishlique for delicious classy kebabs (not the late-night type!), Bel and Nev for breakfast, Curry Paradise for Indian. Walk to Queen's Park for other options, including Carmel (delicious) and Milk Beach (great for brunch). The Queen's Park farmers' market every Sunday also has some great snacks. Pubs: Parlour, Paradise, the Whippet and the Island are all great. Paradise turns into a late-night spot too. Shops: there are two small Tescos on nearby Chamberlayne Road for essentials; Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury's (which has a pharmacy) is also close for bigger shops. Kensal Rise also has a brilliant upmarket butcher, called Brooks Brothers, and lovely wine shop with very knowledgable staff, called Rise & Vine. Also on Chamberlayne Road is a Gail's bakery. Delicias on Harrow Road has great Portuguese foodstuffs. For healthfoods, head to Planet Organic in Queen's Park. Chamberlayne Road also has a very chic clothes store named Supra and great charity shop that's often full of treasure. Scarlet & Violet's flowers are the nicest around. If you're looking to buy presents, try Nooki, Chine or Verandah. For greenery, head to Queen's Park itself, a large green space with tennis courts (which you can book), a pitch-and-putt golf course, table-tennis tables, a great café that sells delicious falafel boxes and a farm zoo with goats, sheep, chickens and a very handsome giant rabbit. Transport We are about eight minutes' walk from both Kensal Rise overground (trains to Clapham Junction, Shepherds Bush, Richmond etc to the west; Hampstead Heath, Camden, Islington and east London, all the way to Stratford to the east), and Kensal Green, which is on London Underground – Bakerloo line. This will get you to Paddington, Baker Street, Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Waterloo and more). We have good bus connections too. We reccommend downloading the City Mapper app, which will help you plan your journeys. Guest access You will have access to the whole flat and sole use of the garden. Other things to note This is our home and we hope you will enjoy it and care for it as we do. However, we do ask that you don't hold parties here. Please don't put drinks on the music unit. Any damages will have to be paid for.
