A stunning little country cottage with log burner in a beautiful location, away from the hustle and bustle of life. Fordwells is a beautiful and quiet little hamlet. close to all the this part of the Cotswolds has to offer. It’s rustic charm! It’s 11 minutes drive from the Farmer’s Dog and 25 minutes from Diddly Squat. Well positioned for Burford and Stow on the Wold. Enjoy a proper weekend in the country with a log burner and some great walks and pubs. Bring your dog if you have one! The space This comfortable, proper stone cottage can accommodate up to 3 adults or perhaps 2 adults and 2 children. One medium sized dog is also welcome. Babies are welcome too if you can navigate steeper stairs. With a cosily designed bedroom. a king-size bed sits within the master. The light filled second floor hosts a separate sleeping quarters and hosts a comfy double bed. All rooms are of course heated as much or as little as you like with electric radiators. Wash away the days, relaxing within our modern bathroom. Dining alfresco? Enjoy our enclosed front terrace whilst you enjoy the view of the neighbourhood cottage garden. Private parking for one car at the rear of the cottage. A second car can be parked up the lane if needed, away from the cottages. We also have a well served kitchen with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. A real wood burner and our leather sofas / chair will provide very restful evenings together with a 50in TV complete with digital connection for your favourite iPlayer, Netflix or Amazon logins. We always supply some logs to get you going, together with kindling and firelighters. Seeking some fun? Break out & embrace the area! Guests have the privilege of exploring an array of scenic walks & cycle routes within the local fields that spout for miles. The countryside here is stunning. The local pubs are brilliant and can be accessed in minutes by car. Menus and recommendations provided as well as walking routes to help navigate! We are close to Stow, Burford, Witney & Chipping Norton, all a short car journey away. Take the opportunity to visit the award-winning village of Bourton-on-the-Water for a unique day out. The whole family can put their problem-solving skills to the test, adventuring through the Dragonfly Maze. Lastly for the animal lovers we couldn’t not recommend a trip to the Birdland Park & Gardens or Cotswold Wildlife Park. Guest access Full access to all areas of the cottage, driveway and terrace area. Other things to note The property retains its original staircase which is lovely, but steeper than modern versions. The attic bedroom is very cosy and with a low ceiling, although offers lovely views of the local countryside. There’s a fenced, private terrace area to the front for your exclusive use. The lawn area is accessible for our neighbours only. Please note we have a fridge but no freezer. We also have a washing machine rather than dishwasher. Make that you check and clean up after your dog, and that you leave upstairs just for humans 😉 Dogs are most welcome but must not be left alone in the property at any point 🐾
