Santa Liana 10 - traditional house in Val del Mis

A typical Belluno mountain house: a space to enjoy the company of your family and friends linked to mountain traditions! It is a perfect starting point for trekking on foot or by bicycle, for excursions among the most famous or special mountains to explore nearby, for significant places and museums to visit in the surroundings. The Mis Valley and the entire territory of the Belluno Dolomites National Park are waiting to be discovered! The space The house of Santa Liana is a typical house of the past, built with traditional wood and stone materials. We started renovating it in 2007, with the desire to maintain its characteristics as a house of the Belluno mountains of the past. Since then, we have been trying to take care of it a little more every day! Santa Liana's house is surrounded by greenery, at the edge of the woods. There are no neighbors: next to it there is a path (uphill through the trees of the woods) that is part of the “Sospirolese Trail” and the ancient church of Santa Giuliana, one of the two churches located at the entrance to the Mis Valley. It is also entirely at the guests' disposal, so it is ideal for those who want to relax! The hikes of the Belluno Dolomites National Park are very close, some can even be done on foot from here! The house houses the kitchen, dining room and living room on the ground floor, while the bedrooms are on the upper floors. On the first floor, there are the two main bedrooms: both have an internal staircase that connects them with two other secondary bedrooms on the third floor, i.e. in the attic. The secondary rooms in the attic overlook the main rooms like a loft and use the same two bathrooms as the main rooms. The house of Santa Liana is characterized by two connections between the living area and the sleeping area, an internal staircase and an external connection: the latter connection was made, as the traditional architecture of the place required, through a staircase and a wooden balcony, positioned on the facade most exposed to the sun. Looking at this façade - which is the main one, you can also identify on the right a second room with a dedicated entrance: this is the space formerly used as a stable. The area above the stable was reserved for the conservation of hay. This house was born, like the others in the area, for the coexistence of man with animals. Outside the house, the presence of the ancient terraces is still traceable, made to tame the slope of the mountain, so that paths could be traced and the courtyard and garden obtained, through the use of local stone flakes. Many fruit trees have always accompanied the inhabitants of this house: to the apples, pears, plums, grapes, and persimmons, we have added figs, blackberries, currants, and persimmon-apple trees. Many animals typical of mountain territories live around the house, which are not difficult to glimpse or meet during their daily daytime or nighttime itineraries: roe deer, deer, foxes, martens, squirrels, dormice, badgers, ... and many birds including woodpeckers and buzzards. La casa di Santa Liana, 10 is a tourist rental registered according to the legislation of the Veneto Region (Property code: Z00466 - Region code 025056-LO) C-00046). Guest access We dedicate to guests all the living space of Santa Liana 10 (the main volume): you will have the kitchen, the dining room and the living room, the bathrooms and the bedrooms. You can enjoy the outdoor space, which we have equipped with a pergola, chairs and a garden table. There will be no other people hosted on the same days, the house will be dedicated only to you! Other things to note The major centers closest to the house are those of Agordo, Belluno and Feltre, Dolomite towns. We are in the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and are very close to Lake Mis, the Cadini, the Soffia waterfall and the Sospirolese Trail.
