Our home, located on a quiet country road, is bright and modern, with great mountain views in one direction, and woods in the other. Depending on the season, enjoy the deck or the wood burning stove. Charming Main Street, as well as the local rail trail, are just down the hill. Our contemporary home allows for a real get-away. The open floor plan of the living/dining/kitchen areas is welcoming and comfortable, and allows for easy socializing with family and friends. The mountain views are a true delight, with glorious sunsets from the deck. In the colder months, the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace is delicious after a long day. The chef's kitchen is stocked with all you could need, and with views of both the woods and the mountains, it's an inspiring place to prepare a meal. The four bedrooms (two queen, one with pull out double sofa, and one with twin beds) and two full baths readily accommodate eight people. Note, we now have air conditioning and shades in all bedrooms! Also, please know the house has no t.v. The listing is for the full house. I'm very accessible by email or phone in case of any issues. Nestled on a dead-end road, on a hill with woods behind and stunning Catskills views in front, this home allows you to get away from it all. Kick back on the deck for morning coffee as you watch the birds, with the Catskills off in the distance. Later, take a walk or a bike ride on the rail trail, and across the iconic trestle bridge over the Rondout Creek. Explore the charming, funky town of Rosendale-- the bakery, restaurants, library, vintage boutique, and bookstore. (If you want more antiquing and dining options, quaint High Falls and Stone Ridge are just minutes away, and Kingston and New Paltz are each a 15 minute drive.) Feeling athletic? Try rock climbing at the famous Shawangunk Mountains. Take a walk around Lake Minnewaska then head in for a swim. Play tennis in town. In the winter months, head to the Catskills for a day of downhill skiing, or go cross-country or snow-shoeing at one of the many nearby trails, or just curl up with a good book in front of the wood-burning stove. Domestic? Gather fruit for your next pie at a local farm or orchard. Arts and crafts projects for the kids in the well stocked “kids' clubhouse". Dine at any of the area's fabulous restaurants, and enjoy live music afterward or grill up a feast and watch the sunset from the table on the deck. NOTE: We do not have a tv. Avid bikers could be car-less, but you'll likely need a car. Please note that we have a minimum of 3 nights for long weekends.
