Convenient and cozy Little Switzerland cabin directly adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Diamondback (226A). Easy in and easy out with winter mountain views and gorgeous sunrises. Only 1.4 miles to Switzerland Inn. The Emerald Village, Crabtree Falls, Altapass Orch., Linville Falls/Gorge, North Cove Disc Golf and lots of beautiful winding mountain roads and trails are nearby. Great home base for exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, Parkway, mountain towns and the Toe River Artisans! The space HURRICANE HELENE UPDATE: The Blue Ridge Parkway is open at mile marker 317 to Boone now and from Little Switzerland to Altapass Orchard and on the other side of Asheville at milepost 382 (Folk Art Center) to Mt. Pisgah and Graveyard Fields ! ! The Altapass Apple Orchard is OPEN!! Little Switzerland pub and local businesses are open and are ready for visitors! Many local shops in downtown Spruce Pine Upper Street are open. The local shops in Marion and Burnsville are open and so is Linville Falls Winery! Please message me with any questions or concerns. The cabin is a traditional wood A-frame. There is a gated front porch with a fire table and chairs for relaxing. Inside Elec. fireplaces and ambient lighting add coziness to the main living and upstairs loft living spaces. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes pots, pans, spices, cutting boards, salt, pepper and olive oil. There is a kitchen bar and separate dining area for meals or game nights. We have a Drip coffee maker and a dishwasher. There is a master bedroom downstairs with a king size bed. The loft stairs lead to a cute vaulted upstairs area that is perfect for movie nights! There is a queen size bed and twin XL bed with extra mattress underneath that can be used on the floor, the loft has an additional separate living room space and full size bath! We have new wall mounted “mini- split” heating and cooling systems in each main room that can be adjusted to your desired temperature. Two smart tv’s and and high speed internet are available for your convenience. Google home is available for music. Log into your favorite apps on Roku guest mode. A washer and a dryer are available in the storage room under the cabin if needed. Children are welcome but please understand that the cabin is not “child-proofed”. Enjoy spring and winter Mountain View’s, fall colors or the green trees and fireflies of summer! Little Switzerland is located at mile marker 334 off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The summer resort that started in 1910 was named because of its sweeping panoramas of deep valleys and distant ranges resembling those of the foothills of the Swiss Alps. Ride along Highway 226A along the 3,500-ft. ridge for beautiful views. Little Switzerland centers around the General Store, Books and Beans and the cafe in season. They are 1.4 miles from the cabin and there is also an entrance to the Parkway! If the Parkway is closed in winter it becomes a popular place to walk and hike in the snow! Lil Swiss is our mountain retreat and we hope you love it as much as we do! Cabin is 1 hr. from Asheville, 25 min. to Burnsville and 10 min. to Spruce Pine. Also, 30 min. to Jonas Ridge Snow Tubing and 45 min to Sugar Mtn. Discounts are available for long-term winter stays! Guest access Lil Swiss cabin is on a private gravel road and is accessible to motorcycles and cars. The driveway is marked with solar lights and flattens out when you pull all the way up to the cabin. A smart lock is located on the cabin front door on the porch. Other things to note The cabin is routinely treated for pests but keep in mind that nature rules in the Blue Ridge Mountains! From fireflies to bears to woodland critters, field mice and spider webs, you never know what you will see when you are out in the wilderness. Please no loud parties and no smoking inside the cabin. Please note: unfortunately there is no trash pick up in this area at all , so you can take it to the Mitchell County recycling center, a gas station or the cleaners will take it to the recycling center for you for $20! The recycling center is closed on Sundays.
