Near the Capitol and most of Midtown (up to around Riley St) is permit or paid parking only on weekdays until 5 PM. For weekday parking, consider staying at an Airbnb on the West Shore (such as Camp Hill). Uptown is not recommended for parking. The house is located on a quiet street, generally making it easy to find street parking on weekends, though this may vary. **Noise / Safety:** Questions about noise and safety are common. This property is not on a main street, so it’s relatively quiet, though it is in the city. Regarding safety, I have a PhD in criminology and am a professor in criminal justice specializing in statistics, research methodology, and crime geography. I’m very selective about the locations of my Airbnbs. If this home doesn’t suit your needs, I recommend staying in Midtown between Reily St and State St (no more than 1-2 blocks up river). Note that State St can be noisy due to restaurant row/bars on 2nd St. Shipoke is another nice area, but verify parking arrangements if not on a weekend; parking permits are checked by plate, not by the permit in the window. **Greenspace for Pets:** There is a greenspace for dogs about two blocks away. Both prior guests and I have felt safe walking there at night.
