Free in nature, far away from traffic and other city noises, with a stunning view of forests and grasslands—you'll experience the ultimate relaxing outdoor feeling with us. Luxurious private camping, but not on a campsite—everything is exclusively yours. The tent, along with its own (heated) gypsy wagon (2025), is located at the edge of our property in a natural, green environment. It’s a place where you can not only enjoy nature but also embrace the peace and relaxing atmosphere. The space In our spacious Bell tent, you'll find a comfortable double bed (160 x 200 cm) made up of two extra-thick mattresses that provide a wonderfully restful sleep. Snuggle up against the soft pillows and enjoy the stunning view—right from your bed, you can spot hares, deer, and birds of prey crossing the grassland on their way to the forest. The tent is equipped with ventilation windows covered with mesh, allowing you to enjoy fresh air while keeping insects out. The main entrance can be securely closed with a zippered fabric door for added privacy and protection. Inside, there is ample lighting and a power outlet for charging your phone or other devices. For chilly evenings, extra blankets are available, along with an electric blanket, ensuring that you always step into a warm and cozy bed, even on colder nights. Convenient furniture is provided to keep your belongings organized, as well as extra wool blankets and throws, so you can always relax in warmth and comfort. At BoerdeHeij, sustainability is key, even in our sanitary facilities. Behind the gypsy wagon, you'll find an easy-to-use compost toilet. If you haven’t used one before, don’t worry—it’s simple! Sit down, do your business, and cover it with a handful of sawdust. This neutralizes odors, and after your stay, we add the contents to our compost heap—saving drinking water and helping our pumpkins thrive. For a refreshing shower, head to the sheltered shower area behind the gypsy wagon. Here, in complete privacy, you can enjoy a warm or cold shower with a view of nature. Since the shower water drains directly into the grassland, we kindly ask you to use environmentally friendly soap and personal care products whenever possible. You can choose how to cook: indoors in the gypsy wagon on a three-burner gas stove or outdoors, where you can cook adventurously over an open fire in the fire pit. Inside the gypsy wagon, you'll find a cupboard stocked with everything you need to prepare a simple, delicious meal and make coffee or tea. Fresh fruit and vegetables can be harvested from our vegetable garden! We’re happy to walk with you and show you what’s ready to pick. Enjoy a delicious barbecue or light a cozy campfire at the fire pit outside. The fire pit is equipped with a tripod and a BBQ grill or witch’s cauldron. A full crate of firewood is provided for free, and additional wood is available for a small fee. Outside, you can enjoy your meal at the picnic table or relax in the garden chairs. If the weather isn’t ideal, the gypsy wagon offers a cozy spot to eat and spend time together. Other things to note At BoerdeHeij, you and your partner can enjoy a unique experience: preparing or keeping a delicious vegetarian meal warm over an open fire, surrounded by the peace and beauty of nature. Let yourself be enchanted by the magic of the outdoors, gaze into the dancing flames, or engage in a meaningful conversation. Sitting by a campfire always brings something special, and a meal cooked over wood fire tastes even better! Choose from two delightful meal options: Stew & Bread Rolls: A rich stew with seasonal vegetables. Fresh bread dough to bake your own rolls over the fire. Homemade garlic sauce as the perfect complement. Pancake Baking: Make your own pancakes over the fire. Includes fresh batter, syrup, powdered sugar, apple, and cheese. We prepare the meals with love and care, using vegetables straight from our own vegetable garden and food forest. What we can't harvest ourselves, we supplement with as many organic and locally sourced ingredients as possible. This way, you can enjoy a meal that is not only delicious but also sustainable and pure. Reservations: At least 2 days in advance. Bad weather: In case of severe weather, you can cancel free of charge. What we provide: The meals, all necessary cooking equipment, an extra crate of firewood, and… we do the dishes!
