Glamping in the guesthouse on Tyintoppen

The Tyintoppen guesthouse is a unique retreat with perhaps the best views on Tyin. On clear days you get panoramic views of much of Jotunheimen – a sight that really takes your breath away. The old sauna has been restored and converted into a charming little guesthouse. Here you will find everything you need for a break from everyday life – perfect for a few days of peace, silence and proximity to nature. We are excited to share this little mountain paradise with you, high on Tyin! The space The cottage consists of one room with a spacious and comfortable bed, an en-suite toilet, a simple kitchenette, and two good chairs for relaxing. The cabin has a simple kitchenette with a Nespresso coffee machine, a kettle, a mini fridge and a double hot plate. We have also made sure to add some coffee pods and tea bags so you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea whenever you wish - along with the view or a good book. You will also find plates, cutlery, glasses, cups, wine glasses as well as two pots and a frying pan. Wifi is included - but it can be unstable and low speed. In the summer you can easily drive all the way up to the guest cottage, but in winter, when the snow is located, it takes a pleasant 15-20 minute walk uphill with snowshoes or skis to reach our little gem. From October-June it is not possible to drive up due to snow, then you have to walk 15-20 minutes with skis or snowshoes. Mobile phone coverage (4G) in some places around the cabin, free wifi with varying quality. There can be poor coverage and low speed. The cabin has magnificent views of Jotunheimen and the sea Tyin. Shower is not available on site, but can be used at Tyinstølen Turisthytte about 4 km away It is the perfect location for hiking and cycling in summer, skiing in winter, and with a variety of options for fishing. The surrounding area is great for both cross country and rando - you can put your skis on your doorstep! About 20 minutes away there is a ski center with several slopes and ski rental. The cabin is located on Tyin with many popular hikes in the area. Famous areas around are Filefjell and Eidsbugarden/Fondsbu with unlimited hiking opportunities. One of the more famous peaks at the cabin is Tyinstølsnosi, and there are several shorter hikes as well. The nearest grocery store is in Tyin, about 20 minutes by car. (Joker Tyinkrysset, open every day - closes at 6pm) About 30 minutes by car you will find Øvre Årdal with a small shopping center (open Monday - Saturday, closes at 11 pm) and a nice trip to Vettisfossen waterfall. Vettisfossen is a very popular sight, about 45 minutes by car to the starting point of the hike - which takes from 1.5 hours (depending on your speed). Old Lærdalsøyri (about 1 hour drive) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Øvre Årdal (about 35 minutes drive) allows for some shopping.
