Offered to the manor by the Viscount of Turenne, this ceiling is now listed as a Historic Monument. We doze off while admiring the infinity of decorations that the artists have patiently and skillfully created for an eternity that is beyond us. In this sense, this ceiling is like a night sky whose constellations soothe us, reminding us that we are a tiny plot of the living heart of the universe. Worthy of an invention by Lewis Caroll in Alice in Wonderland, the bathroom is encased by local carpenters, in a beautiful 17th century cabinet with a delicately molded marquee. The view overlooks the garden of poets in the shade of a large yew tree several centuries old. The exterior door overlooks a small courtyard, below the SPA garden and pool. _ The MANOIR DE LAROQUE-DELPRAT is located in Autoire, formerly known as "Le Petit Versailles", with its fully preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture, its manors and mansions, classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France® in a classified Natural Area. Remarkable residence, ideally located, in the heart of the cirque of cliffs of Autoire, the manor dating from the 17th century is distinguished by its elements listed in the Historical Monuments and its many gardens. Indeed, alongside its five levels of living space, the manor has four levels of gardens and its own spring in the heart of the cliff, giving it the appearance of a small Babylon. There are trees, some of which are centuries old, offering a home to many species of birds. The state room... With an area of 80 m², the ceremonial living room is located on the ground floor of the north wing and has a superb French ceiling as well as a fully carpentered walnut wall panel housing a fireplace, both dating from the 17th century. Guests are invited to have breakfast there and to enjoy a flambé when the climate invites us to relax by the fire. The Viscount of Turenne's room... The most precious treasure of the manor is on the second floor of the ceremonial wing. The "Chamber of the Viscount of Turenne" is adorned with a painted ceiling and a painting, both listed as Historic Monuments. The painted ceiling, with an area of 35 m², is the creation of a group of Italian artists from the early 17th century, a great rarity, this extraordinary work, carries the soul of the manor. The garden of poets... Dedicated to the manor's guests, this garden is conveniently located for breakfast, lounging, writing or reading in the summer. A very old yew, which has curiously taken the form of a large cedar of Lebanon, protects the garden in the shelter of its light shade. Behind the low wall of this courtyard you can see the rooftops of the Renaissance houses in the neighborhood. Birds and squirrels have found a home there. The Pool... On the third level of the gardens, in a green setting, on a small promontory is the swimming pool of the manor, facing the English castle built on the peak of the Autoire gorge. With an area of 12 m by 6 m, with landings, the pool is in a central position to admire the circular cliffs that blaze at sunrise and sunset.
