Stylish country converted barn

Symonds Barn is a spacious converted barn set in the middle of Childrey, a village on the edge of the Ridgeway, only 15 miles from Oxford. Choose between enjoying an escape to the countryside, with delicious meals in one of the many local cafes and pubs and walks through some really beautiful countryside (it’s a 5 minute drive onto the Ridgeway), or take advantage of the nearby shopping and culture in Oxford, Marlborough, Hungerford or Burford. The space Symonds Barn is a spacious, colourful and quirky oasis of calm. The vaulted ceiling gives a feeling of light, height and space, and the 300yr old beams, once housing a blacksmiths workhouse, give a rustic feel to the building. The bedroom is pretty and light over looking the drive, with a comfy king size bed and has an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. A fully equipped kitchen, with fridge, freezer, dish washer, toaster, microwave and kettle, means you can easily cook at home using fresh ingredients from the nearby farm shop. There is a bar for informal eating or dining table for 4. A utility cupboard has washing machine, plus hanging rack, ironing board and iron; there is basic cleaning equipment and also a basket and equipment for a picnic. Our cosy sitting room has a wood burner, large smart tv, and a selection of board games and books for a quiet night in. There is a desk for if you need to work and good Wi-Fi connection. Outside there is a table and chairs if the weather is fine, but the nearby Childrey Stores is also a lovely place to go and sit outside with a coffee or some lunch. Guest access You have access to the whole barn, and share the driveway with the main house. There is a cosy sitting area outside the barn.
