It also has generous car parking space for several vehicles. A nearby children’s playground and cafe at the summit of the Great Orme is just a few minutes’ walk away, and a short 5 minute stroll provides easy access to the halfway station of the Great Orme Tramway. The popular toboggan run is also only a 2-3 minute drive from the property or 5-10 minutes on foot. Orme Villa will always offer you the opportunity to feel ‘on top of the world!’ INTERNAL SPACE Ground Floor Facilities - Via an enclosed porch at the front of the house, guests enter the main reception hall with its wood block flooring, designated coat hanging area, and from which they can then easily access the central living areas of this lovely character property. These areas comprise a large ‘L-shaped’ lounge, dining room with seating up to 12 people, kitchen with breakfast bar, adjoining breakfast room, separate sun room, study, and a utility room. The traditional wood block flooring, a beamed dining room ceiling, and the modernity of contemporary décor and furnishings, offer guests an immediate warm and welcoming greeting. There’s also a large double bedroom (Bedroom 2) and a substantial modern 4-piece family bathroom situated on the ground floor. Bedroom 2 : 2 x standard 4ft 6in double beds (sleeping a total of 4 people) : Situated off the main hallway and occupying a position at the front of the house, this bright and well appointed bedroom can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people. It has generous modern free-standing furniture, a relaxing contemporary ‘tub’ chair, windows on two sides which offer lovely views of the beautiful far-reaching countryside, and there is a modern 4-piece family bathroom directly next door. Family Bathroom : A lovely modern, spacious white tiled 4-piece bathroom is located next to Bedroom 2 on the ground floor. Comprising a full size bath, shower cubicle, toilet, extra large vanity unit and heated towel rail, this has all the facilities for use as an ideal family bathroom. Lounge : The beautiful bright and airy L-shaped lounge presents an extremely calm and comfortable space in which to enjoy either daytime or evening indoor relaxation. Its tasteful decoration and furnishings include 3 x 3-seater couches, central coffee table, 55 inch Smart TV, pool table and 6 substantial windows through which to enjoy the magnificence of uninterrupted views of Llandudno, the surrounding countryside and the magnificent mountain ranges in the distance. This is undoubtedly a delightful environment in which to relax at the end of a busy and active day. Dining Room : Adjoining the beautiful lounge, guests can access this charming character-filled dining room via its 2 separate glass door entrances. Its modern dining table and comfortable chairs can seat up to 12 people, and with a beamed ceiling, wood block flooring, and an original decorative ornamental fire surround, this impressive room creates a perfect mix of tradition and modernity all rolled into one. A three-course evening meal and a glass of wine, together with a tune or two on the resident piano, would certainly go down well in this lovely room! There’s even a variety of interesting board games if you fancy something a little more competitive to end your evening! Kitchen : A modern fully-equipped kitchen is situated directly off the dining room, with a choice of access through 2 separate doorways. A breakfast bar enables guests to enjoy a quick breakfast, coffee or snack, but if something more leisurely or substantial is required, the adjoining breakfast room can certainly accommodate these requirements (see info below). Guests can test their culinary skills in this spacious kitchen which provides a modern range cooker, numerous drawers and cupboards, generous worktop space, freestanding microwave, appliances, cutlery, crockery, general utensils, fridge, fridge-freezer, separate large freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and a fully stocked spice rack. Considered to be one of the main hubs of the house, we are confident that this kitchen will fulfil the needs of any budding chef! Breakfast Room : This extremely useful and practical space directly adjoins the kitchen, and provides additional seating at a large table with 10 chairs. Ideal for a large family whose breakfast requirements stretch well beyond the kitchen breakfast bar, this light and bright room with wood block flooring, creates a real family atmosphere. * 2 x infant high chairs are available, if required. Sun Room : Through an open archway at the end of the breakfast room, guests can retreat to the 2 informal relaxation chairs situated directly in front of the impressive picture window which overlooks the breathtaking views of Llandudno bay and its coastline. Relaxing in the tranquillity of this private space and enjoying the beauty of the incredible mountain and countryside views is beyond words – it really is a powerful place in which to unwind. Study : If you need a quiet place to read, concentrate on a board game or similar, or you need to take a few minutes’ break for work emails or phone calls, why not make use of the separate study room which can be easily accessed through the dining room (Wifi is available within the property). Entrance to this room can also be directly gained from the exterior of the house, via a second enclosed porch and entrance hall at the side of the property. Whichever way you choose, this offers another useful space in which to find some well-earned peace and quiet, if required. Utility Room : For guest convenience, a 7kg washing machine, drying rack, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner and general cleaning equipment, are all available for self-service use in this very functional room. There are another 2 light, bright and airy modern double bedrooms (Bedrooms 3 and 4), each with generous contemporary free-standing furniture, newly fitted carpet and offering lovely scenic views. There is also a separate cloakroom with toilet and sink. Bedroom 1 : 2 x single beds (can be zip and linked to become 1 x super king double)+ 4ft 6in pull out sofa bed (standard double size), with en-suite (Master) Bedroom 3 : 2 x single beds (can be zip and linked to become 1 x super king double) Bedroom 4 : 2 x single beds (can be zip and linked to become 1 x super king double) * 2 x wooden infant cots are available, if required. Bathrooms : Ensuite : This is a beautiful modern, white tiled 3 piece bathroom, comprising a fully enclosed shower cubicle, toilet and large size vanity unit. It also has a heated towel rail. Washroom/Cloakroom: This beautiful brand-new, elegantly appointed washroom has contemporary tiled walls and flooring, with a stylish modern white wall hung toilet and complementary wash basin unit. Its impressive gold fittings and ceiling hung mirror, together with contrasting black radiator/heated towel rail and tasteful décor, add to the luxury of this stunning washroom. EXTERNAL SPACE The gated private grounds in which Orme Villa is situated, provide an excellent space in which guests can take in the breathtaking views and unwind with a quiet afternoon tea on the terrace. Rockeries and pretty plants enhance its grounds, and a grassed garden area to the side of the house is perfect for children to happily play in. A relaxing hot tub set on a wooden decking area offers spectacular views of the North and West shores of Llandudno and with parking space for several cars, the outside area of this delightful property has much to offer. At night, the bright dusk to dawn lighting at the front entrance area creates a warm and inviting welcome to its guests. LOCATION DETAILS Llandudno is approximately a 1 hour 45 minute drive from Manchester by car, and 1 hour 20 minutes from Liverpool. If travelling from further south eg. Birmingham, it will take approximately 21/2 hours to arrive at the pretty seaside resort. Orme Villa can be directly accessed via the longer more scenic route along the 5 mile Marine Drive coastal road, or via the shorter less scenic route on the Ty-Gwyn Road. The nearest mainline rail stations are Llandudno Station (direct from Manchester), which is approximately 1.3 miles from the centre of Llandudno, and Llandudno Junction, some 3 miles away from the centre. Local taxis and a regular bus service from Llandudno Junction to the centre of town are readily available. A great mix of nearby towns and villages, seaside resorts and mountain boltholes are easily accessible from Llandudno, and there’s history at almost every turn. The town and beach resort of Conwy with its famous castle is only 4 miles away, whilst the beautiful mountainous area around the lovely village of Betwys y Coed, is only about a 30 minute drive. Offering a whole host of attractions here, including wonderful forest and riverside walks, mountain biking, shops and cafes, and the rustic beauty of nearby Swallow Falls Waterfall, Betwys y Coed is a village well worth stopping for. It is also the location of the amazing Fforest Coaster, an exciting and popular toboggan style roller coaster ride providing fun for all the family. Colwyn Bay and its purpose-built beach is only a 5 mile drive from Llandudno and is home to the Welsh Mountain Zoo and the Zip World Stadium. The busy seaside resort of Rhos on Sea is only 4 miles from Llandudno, but if you wish to travel a little further afield, the historical market town of Ruthin, and the royal town of Caernarfon are well within reach. Notably, Caernarfon’s world-renowned castle is on the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the finest examples of late 13th-century and early 14th-century military architecture in Europe. These are just a few of the many destinations and attractions that are readily available in and around the area of Llandudno. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES If a mix of beauty, historical, sporting and leisure activities in a stunning child-friendly environment is top of your ‘must have’ list, then Llandudno is undoubtedly the perfect destination. It offers a fabulous choice of activities and attractions to meet all ages and tastes, all are easily accessible, and Orme Villa can certainly provide an idyllic base from which to enjoy them all. Here are a few popular suggestions to consider (seasonal or specific opening times may apply at some attractions – we recommend checks are made in advance) : Beaches North Shore Beach is Llandudno’s principle beach and is home to the beautiful 19th Century pier and main promenade, and is the hub of the hotel accommodation in town. Generally the busier of Llandudno’s two beaches, it is ideal for sunbathing, water sports and sea fishing. West Shore beach is popular with holidaymakers and is a quieter sandy beach with lovely views over Conwy Bay and out towards Anglesey. It also has fabulous mountain views and is a favourite for sunbathing, ball games and kite-surfing. Llandudno Pier This amazing 19th Century Grade II listed pier has all the hallmark traditions of a popular seaside pier. It is one of the UK’s finest, offering an array of shops, cafes, bars and numerous attractions for all the family. The state-of-the art Ferris Wheel, children’s funfair rides, arcades and live music, all contribute towards making this one of Llandudno’s premier attractions. Great Orme Tramway Travel in the beautifully restored original tramcars as they embark on their journey through the winding roads of the Great Orme Country Park and Nature Reserve to the spectacular summit of the Great Orme. Beginning their 20 minute journey from Victoria Station, a short distance from Llandudno Pier, this is Britain’s only funicular (cable-hauled) tramway that travels on public roads. At the Halfway Station, visitors may wish to stop at the fascinating exhibition which describes the history and engineering of this amazing tramway. Visitors can also see the tramway’s powerful funicular system in action. The Bronze Age Copper Mine, just a 5 minute walk from the Halfway Station, is another incredible historical site to visit. Great Orme Copper Mine This incredible 3,500 year old copper mine lies beneath a hillside on the Great Orme and is believed to be the largest prehistoric copper mine in the world. Originally uncovered in 1987, the mine represents one of the most remarkable archaeological discoveries of modern time. Since its discovery, archaeologists, engineers and cavers have slowly uncovered more mine tunnels, as well as large areas of the surface landscape, to reveal an incredible account of Bronze Age history. Visitors can see for themselves and explore these fascinating tunnels which were mined over 3,500 years ago. Conwy Castle Occupying an imposing position in the popular seaside town of Conwy, Conwy Castle is one of the most magnificent Medieval Fortresses in Europe and is a World Heritage site. Its restored spiral staircases enable visitors to climb the great towers to the battlements of this impressive castle and enjoy the breathtaking views across the estuary of the River Conwy and down into Conwy itself. Built in the late 13th Century, its singular magnificence has dominated over the harbour and narrow streets of Conwy for over seven hundred years, and its unwavering popularity is expected to continue for many more centuries to come. Great Orme Family Golf Course Located on the lower slopes of the Great Orme, in an attractive peaceful setting, this delightful 9 hole pitch and putt golf course, with varying difficulty, is perfect for all the family. It offers stunning views over Llandudno and is one of the most popular visitor attractions in the area. Llandudno Snowsports Centre The Centre offers a range of great snow sport activities for all ages, a 9-hole Alpine-themed mini golf course, and notably, a thrilling 575 metre toboggan run. Ski and snowboarding lessons on the Centre’s beginner and ‘practice’ slopes are also available, as well as the fun sport of snow-tubing. There’s definitely something to enjoy for all ages at this brilliant Snowsports Centre. Great Orme Summit Complex At the end of your journey to the summit of the Great Orme, why not spend some time at the Visitor Centre where interesting interactive and audio-visual exhibits explain the Great Orme’s history, landscape and wildlife, as well as the amazing Victorian tramway. You can also take in the magnificence of the far-reaching panoramic views from the Summit Complex Café. There’s also the opportunity to enjoy the Rocky Pines Adventure Golf course, an 18 hole outdoor adventure/crazy golf course situated just in front of the café, or take a flash back in time in the Olde Victorian Picture House gift shop with its personalised gift items and the John Chambers photographic studio. Here you can take yourself back in time and dress in the costumes of bygone eras to create an unforgettable holiday picture. Bodafon Farm Park Home to The Owls Trust (formerly the North Wales Bird Trust), Bodafon Farm Park is a working farm situated just a short distance from Llandudno’s sea front. It has delightful views over the beautiful bay and Great Orme headland, and is highly praised for its excellent family appeal. Visitors can view the large collection of owls and even feed its goats, deer and resident llama. A tractor and trailer ride, or a drive around the farm on mini tractors, are popular attractions for both children and adults, and a pretty courtyard café and bar area offer refreshments for all. It starts its leisurely mile long journey from Happy Valley to the summit of the Great Orme, taking approximately 9 minutes to reach its destination. Kings Head Pub Renowned as the town’s oldest inn, the 300-year-old Kings Head prides itself on serving great drinks and exceptional food in a fantastic atmosphere for both locals and visitors.
