The Big House | Where Lake Memories Begin

The Big House is situated on gorgeous Heart Lake in northern Michigan. It’s a 5 bed, 2 bath home with a beautiful wrap around porch and large kitchen for entertaining. The Big House easily accommodates up to 10 guests. In the summer guests will have access to shared kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, water trampoline, swim platform, and bonfire pit. In the winter, guests can access Trail 7, directly across the road, for snow mobile season. It's the perfect place for your northern Michigan getaway! The space The Big House is apart of Heart Lake Resort. Heart Lake Resort is a lake resort with seven other small cottages on the property. The grounds are shared with the other cottages. This includes the bonfire pit, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and beach access. Firewood is provided at the shared bonfire pit. The Big House does have two portable AC units: one on the main floor and one on the second floor landing. Please DO NOT attempt to move these units. A new wood-burning sauna has been added to Heart Lake Resort as of September 2025. Wood is provided. This is a communal amenity available to all guests! The hosts live in the walkout basement of The Big House with separate access to their space. The hosts ask that guests be mindful of their noise level. No parties allowed. Guest access Guests will be able to access the first and second floor of The Big House. Access to the basement is not included. Other things to note SUMMER - It doesn't get more dreamy than Heart Lake in the summer. The crystal clear lake is perfect for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, jumping on the water trampoline, or just relaxing on the dock soaking up the sun. Guests can unpack and let the memories begin! WINTER - Heart Lake Resort is an outdoor enthusiasts winter destination! Trail 7 is located directly across the street for door-to-trail access. We have ample parking for snowmobile trailers on site. Snowmobilers can catch the trail to a multitude of northern Michigan destinations, local restaurants, and gas stations for convenience.
