The space "Rome is a whole world, and it takes years to even recognize yourself. Lucky those travelers who see and manage to leave" W. Goethe Located in the center of Rome, located in the center of Trastevere, it offers accommodation with city views and free Wi-Fi, all just 1 km from Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, 1 km from the Vatican, 1 km from St. Peter's Square and 700 meters from Castel Sant'Angelo. Not suitable for students, thanks The delightful 60m2 apartment with independent entrance, furnished in a modern style, on the 1st floor (without lift but with a slight and comfortable flight of stairs) is very welcoming and bright and extremely quiet, and includes 1 romantic double bedroom in the mezzanine, a single bed suitable for an adult or children or teenagers, and wardrobe, a delightful living room, with dining area, double sofa bed and flat screen TV, a kitchen equipped with fridge, oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, and breakfast corner, and 1 bathroom with tub/shower. It also offers a delightful veranda, where you can have breakfast, enjoy a cocktail at sunset, or have lunch and dinner in the open air !! Linen and towels are included. Behind the famous Via della Lungara, there is an incredible and fascinating place. If you believe that "popular" houses are only in the outskirts of Rome, come here to change your mind. About halfway along Via degli Orti d'Alibert, you enter the "Condominio 27" through a small arch and suddenly you find yourself in a place away from traffic and noise, in one of the most fashionable streets in northern Trastevere. He has been depicted in paintings by many artists over the years, including Giorgio de Chirico and Filippo de Pisis. It is undoubtedly one of the quietest and most romantic non-passing streets in the heart of Rome, a stone's throw from the bars, pubs, clubs and attractions of the Movida Trasteverina. ICP Orti d'Alibert complex Rome is also unique for these surprises that it gives you in the most unthinkable places. Walking in the Trastevere district between Renaissance villas and the high walls of ancient monasteries, you suddenly come across a place out of time: a tangle of courtyards, stairs, balconies and arches where quiet reigns supreme, broken only by conversations and gestures of its inhabitants, and time seems to have stopped fifty years ago. It is the IACP public housing complex in Via degli Orti d'Alibert, built on an ancient convent of friars, used for a certain period by Mira Lanza and, finally, sold to the IACP which will assign it in 1925 to 105 families, many of which still live here, continuing to keep alive a micro-community still governed by values of reciprocity and solidarity. A maze of courtyards, arches and galleries: this is hidden behind an arch surmounted by a large goggle in a hidden and dead end street, Via degli Orti d'Alibert in the #RioneTrastevere. It is a building complex built by # ICP, the Istituto delle Case Popolari, in 1925, on a pre-existing structure: this place was originally a convent of friars, which at the beginning of the twentieth century was occupied by the establishment of candles from Mira-Lanza. A singular architectural case in the social housing sector of the time, which does not follow any typology built by the ICP in the same years. Insisting on the lot previously occupied by the convent, closed between the garden of Palazzo Salviato (later the Military College) and the Collegio Tiberino, it is a closed space, secluded and well defined urbanistically and architecturally that has preserved its identity and makes it seem like a kind of small village. In a house of the complex live the protagonists of "Ricordi?" (2019) by Valerio Mieli with #LucaMarinelli A maze of courtyards, arches and balconies, a small charming village of Baroque architecture unique in Rome: which represents a little-known and very characteristic place, but about which there is little news. this hides behind an arch surmounted by a large goggle in a hidden and exquisite street which is Via degli Orti d'Alibert in the #RioneTrastevere. Behind Via della Lungara there is an incredible and fascinating place. If you believe that "popular" houses are only in the outskirts of Rome, come here to change your mind. About halfway along Via degli orti d'Alibert, on the right, a closed street. You enter the "condominium" through a small arch and suddenly you find yourself in a place away from traffic and noise. The walls are of an intense red color (Pompeian) and in many places deteriorated and chipped. But everything is neat and tidy. Indeed more than in order: in harmony. This place was originally a convent of friars, and at the beginning of the 20th century it was provisionally occupied by the Mira-Lanza candle factory. In 1925, as part of the program for the construction of social housing in Rome, the structure was transformed into a housing complex on the initiative of the ICP. The complex, as we have said singular in the context of public housing of the time, is among the smallest built in the 1920s, consisting of just 100 apartments, and does not follow the type, for example, of the garden city as the Garbatella, nor the rural village as it will happen in Acilia, nor a complex of condominiums or economic houses. The current entrance is located at number 27 of Via degli Orti d'Alibert, and consists of an arch surmounted by a "goggle" placed on the dead end stretch of the road. Previously, there was a gate before the dead end stretch. Inside, the inhabited areas are low, no more than three floors, and very close to each other, sometimes equipped with a gallery and revolving around a system of courtyards. On an external wall of the complex was placed, in 1948, a Sacred Aedicule of the Madonna del Divino Amore, on the initiative of Roberto Finizio, a particularly busy resident of the complex. The presence of the Sacred Aedicule has contributed to developing a strong devotion to the Madonna del Divino Amore on the whole, and every 13th May for many years has been celebrated with the "Festa della Madonnella", a celebration that, we read in the book "La Sacra Città: anthropological-religious itineraries in Rome at the end of the millennium ", took place between 1948 and the 1950s, and it was a great celebration that involved all the inhabitants of the complex. To this day this complex continues to maintain its own identity, in a secluded and well-circumscribed urbanistically and architecturally reality that preserves the characteristics of a village, too often rare to find in a metropolis. Guest access Guests will have at their complete disposal the entire apartment, as well as the outdoor patio, and will be able to walk comfortably and freely to get to know the whole and fascinating condominium from the inside. Other things to note We are in Trastevere, a stone's throw from the center of Rome. Trastevere is a unique and harmonious whole between ancient and modern whose cobblestones, alleys, precious corners, squares and monuments show all the beauty of Rome. It is also the place to taste the typical Roman cuisine, tasting its characteristic dishes. Our location will allow you to reach many attractions and monuments and to easily get around the city on foot (to give some examples, the Santa Maria in Trastevere Square is 900 meters from the apartment, while the bus station in Lungotevere Gianicolense / Regina Coeli is 100 meters from the hotel, we are 700 meters from Saint Peter and Castel Sant'Angelo Castle and a 10-minute walk from Campo de 'Fiori and Navona Square). It is 1 km from both Piazza Navona and 18 km from Rome Airport. Ciampino, the closest airport and for which it provides a special shuttle service for a fee. Not suitable for students, thanks Registration Details IT058091C28PXOZAAI
