Description

Unique, dog-friendly camper-to-tiny home conversion. Wake up to amazing views with mountains in every direction. The Allegheny Highlands rail trail greets you as you step out the front door. No pet fees! Perfect for those looking for a peaceful and safe location, just off the beaten path. Surrounded by the Monongahela Forest, and the Cheat River, this valley is an outdoor recreation paradise. Rustic and simple, the guest house offers you what you need for a comfy stay. The space This is a 1993 Fleetwood Prowler camper that has been converted into a tiny home with lots of natural light. Perfect cozy hide away to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in the countryside. Experience the simple life in a tiny Appalachian town. The cozy cottage-like camper is designed to be a peaceful, stress-free oasis. The windows, skylights, and mirrors amplify the beauty of the mountains. The camper has a sunroom addition (with a woodstove), a tiny bathroom, a full kitchen, a bunk bed, and a small bedroom with a queen bed. ADDED VALUE FOR YOUR STAY: - No pet fees - Free firewood and kindling - Free bicycles. - Fully stocked kitchen saves on eating out. - Ample toiletries and linens for your comfort. GLAMPING: Glamping stands for glamorized camping. This means that, although you will have comfortable furniture and modern amenities, there is still a camping aspect to the experience. Specifically, the camper is not sealed up as well as a regular house, so as when camping, you'll need to keep your food stored to avoid any visitors. Another part of the camping experience is the tiny 6 gallon hot water heater, making shorter showers necessary. We are located on the edge of a forest. You may see an occasional moth, fly, stink bug or ants. There are animals in the forest around us. This is a DIY camper conversion. You may see imperfections. Those looking for a bug-free luxury stay might prefer a hotel. LOCATION: The camper is located in the little historic rail road town of Hambleton, WV. Although not a wealthy resort area, our neighbors are honest and friendly. There is zero property crime and friendly local people who will help you if you're ever in need. We are on the the edge of town right along the cycle trail converted from the old rail line. An easy base to explore Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, Thomas and Davis, and the Canaan & Timberline Ski Resorts. Amenities like groceries and gas are just 2 miles down the road in Parsons. You will be located in the valley beneath Blackwater Falls, with the Cheat River, the Monongahela Forest, and Blackwater Canyon surrounding you. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore a largely undiscovered region. This is a local area with hard working people. It's great for adventurers who like to experience the local area and get off the beaten path. It is not a vacation home resort area. It is also not completely remote or secluded. You will see wildlife, wake up to the birds, and have the wilderness at your doorsteps. You'll enjoy beautiful views and hours of peace and quiet. At the same time, you will also have neighbors in the distance and hear occasional children playing, lawnmowers running, barking dogs, chainsaws, etc. For the most part, this is a very quiet town, but we want guests to know what to expect. PRIVACY: The guest house is located next door to our home. While you may see us occasionally in the yard, you will have the guest house and driveway to yourself. The angle of the guest house allows for privacy despite being on the same lot as the hosts. Being on the edge of a small town, you will have the direct access to the forest paths and the cycle path to the west. To the east and south, the camper is bordered by empty lots, with town neighbors in the distance. The hosts home is located directly north of the guest house. CHILDREN: Infants are welcome. We have a pack and play, and high chair. The space is great for families with older children. The space is not recommended for crawling age, toddlers or active younger children. The woodstove is unguarded, there is an open step, uneven stone patio, and some rough edges. For this reason, it's not the best fit for this age group. THE SIZE: While there are beds for five people, this is a small space at under 300 sq feet. The hot water tank is only 6 gallons. For these reasons, it is recommended for only 2 people. I will allow 4 as long as you are okay sharing a small space. Very tall or large guests may find the bathroom space tight. Guest access Guests have full private use of the guest house, guest house yard and driveway. Your hosts live on the same lot next door in the main house, but we give you full privacy. Other things to note While we love rustic, cozy spaces, glamping isn't for everyone. This is not a luxury resort. This is a DIY home made camper conversion with imperfections. The camper is on the edge of a forest, which is home to many bugs and critters. Occasionally sightings are expected. Wood heat! * Please note! If you are booking for colder months, the guest house relies on wood heat. There are two electric fireplaces, but when the temps drop, you'll be much more comfortable with a fire going. We provide the wood and kindling. People with limited mobility should be aware of an uneven stone patio and small entrance/stair area. Also, while nature is all around, keep in mind that we are on the edge of a small town. You will hear lawnmowers, chainsaws, barking dogs, roosters, occasional dirt bikes or kids playing....small town Appalachian life.
