Description

Rosalind's is situated on a quiet one way street, a three minute walk from Stratford's beautiful parkland, steps away from the historical town centre, theatres, restaurants. Built in 1879 the house has been faithfully renovated back to its original historic beauty and charm. A generous front porch-ideal for watching the theatre goers as they meander these streets on their way to the Festival /Tom Patterson Theatre Also Orlando's Hideaway next door, is a 1 bedroom unit through oldrectorystratford The space OWNER OPERATED, we care with care! Kev Private off street parking for 2 cars in front of the House - a real benefit in Stratford. An ideal base on a quiet street for visiting both Stratford and the surrounding area. We are the owners of this 1879 home. It has retained many or its original features including original pine flooring, wooden panel doors and sash windows but is light, spacious and offers comfortable modern living. The home has been completely renovated to include bathroom with in floor heating and large shower. A well equipped and bright kitchen. There is also free high speed wi-fi, direct Ethernet connections throughout & TV with Netflix and cable. Linen and towels are provided as is complimentary tea and coffee and kitchen basics to get you started. We love this home, have known the previous owner and as such it's been a home from home for us. Our son in the '00's spent many days as a toddler roaming this house and gardens, and we are happy to have been able to renovate this home with a view to keeping its 'feel' being one that you constantly want to return to. We know you'll love it (and the neighbourhood) as much as we do. This home is an extension of our award winning B&B, The Old Rectory just around the corner. We both share a passion for good wholesome food. Kevin has worked previously for 15 years at some of the U.K.'s and Irelands finest 'Relais & Chateaux' Country Inns and Hotels in their restaurants before moving to Stratford from Ireland in 1993. Kim is a native of Stratford and has traveled extensively on a private yacht catering to crew and invited guests. Both of us now enjoy life together in the great community of Stratford with our son among family and friends. Together we hope to nourish your body and soul. Up to three couples traveling together could rent both apartments-(Rosalind's Retreat & Orlando's Hideaway) as they are adjacent. oldrectorystratford Sorry, but we don't have many reviews or superhost status, a symptom of 28 years in operation. We are nearly always booked, so book early! Find us at oldrectorystratford Guest access Use of gardens, front porch and newly added in 2022 a spacious deck overlooking the garden to the rear. The Tom Patterson theatre is visible at about 80 metres/yards as the crow flies. Enjoy! Other things to note Longer term stays are available at considerable discounts. Contact owner Kevin Gormley for details and pricing depending on times of the year. To find some our favourite restaurants please copy & visit our page at oldrectorystratford and click on Where to Dine (top left hand corner ) or look for our restaurant recommendations within the AirBnB app. OWNER OPERATED, we care with care! Kev This house was also the former home to Charley Lightfoot who is one of hockey history’s less celebrated Black pioneers, but breaking into integrated professional hockey in 1906, Lightfoot was one of, if not the first Black professional (now the NHL) hockey player. Now you know! Check out the 'Blue Plaque' by the front door.
