Other things to note House History: The stone portion of the home was originally built as a whiskey distillery for the Sheets Farm. At the time, this large farm encompassed much of what is now West York. Whiskey was produced at the property and then delivered by horse drawn wagon to Baltimore for distribution. The property was converted to a tenant house in the 1800s. Over time, the Sheets farm was completely redeveloped into a suburban landscape. The Old Distillery House was subdivided with one acre of land and sold as a single family home in the early 1900s. Then in 1980, the home was completely modernized with new electrical, plumbing and other systems, as well as a large addition on the North side. Finally, the Old Distillery House received its final renovations and updates in 2021.
