MOBA is a sustainable holiday accommodation surrounded by nature, yet within walking distance of the very traditional little village of São Luís – and only 15 km from the beautiful beaches of the Costa Vicentina. There is a pool and you will receive a breakfast basket every morning so that you can start the day relaxed on your terrace. The space The minimalistic, clean design of this tiny villa leaves plenty of space to breathe, relax and contemplate the surrounding nature. The full glass front and the continuation of the building's contours onto the covered terrace blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors. However, the absence of windows in most areas creates a very cosy, almost cave-like atmosphere. The panoramic view gives you the feeling of being surrounded by nature throughout the entire living space. The building structure and interior are made entirely of wood, while the façade is made of cork, allowing the house to blend in perfectly with its surroundings, which consist mainly of cork trees. At the same time, cork has excellent insulating qualities, is highly weather-resistant, non-flammable and, like wood, a renewable building material. As a result, the house has even been awarded a certificate for sustainable construction by the University of Minho. The house is completely self-sufficient in terms of energy and water, with its electricity needs covered by solar panels (including the well pump and hot water). We only use eco-friendly cleaning and washing products, dishwashing liquid, etc., do not use disposable tableware and offer our guests free spring water to avoid the waste generated by plastic bottles. The house has a floor space of approx. 38 m², including a bathroom with a walk-in shower, an open-plan bedroom and living room with a double bed (1.60 x 2 m), a kitchenette and dining area, as well as a covered terrace with comfortable deck chairs. There is a hammock outside, directly in front of the house. MOBA... comes from Monte do Barranquinho, which is the original name of our beautiful, naturally overgrown valley. It covers 10.5 hectares, mainly wooded with cork oaks, pines, olive trees and strawberry trees (medronheiros), is crossed lengthwise by a stream and offers plenty of open space and hidden places to relax, explore and observe nature. We have 4 different accommodations in total, which are mainly aimed at nature-loving guests who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city and value peace, nature and privacy on their holidays more than a large television and air conditioning. We have a fruit and vegetable garden for self-sufficiency, sheep for cleaning the grounds, chickens for fresh eggs every day and two super friendly dogs on our property. There is also a fenced-in pool at the main house (at approx. 300m, Ø 5 m / 1.5 m deep) which is operated with a salt water system and is therefore very skin-friendly and easy on the eyes. Guest access The entire house and the immediate surroundings are private. The rest of the property, including the gardens and pool, is a shared area, so it is also used by us and other guests. The grounds are relatively spacious, so the pool and main house are about 350 metres from this Tiny House. Other things to note Breakfast: You will receive a breakfast box delivered directly to your accommodation every day, containing fresh eggs, bread rolls, butter, cheese, honey/jam and some fruit (depending on the season and availability from our own garden).
